RIGEL MOTOR - Spanish brand

RIGEL TINTO X (1997)

The TINTO X is the first crossover of the European brand and raises it under the same platform as the Rigel Tinto mk2, mixing asphalt and Off Road. A vehicle exclusively designed to combine in a practical and sporty way the two worlds that fascinate us so much, on the one hand sportsmanship on asphalt, and on the other to overcome obstacles on the ground and get into muddy areas.

The X has been built on the same platform as the TINTO mk2, but its chassis has been modified from the B-pillar, we are talking about a three-door vehicle with a flat tailgate imitating rancheras or family vehicles. The new C-pillar gives the vehicle a very country and practical look by having a large access mouth to the tailgate and being able to load a large number of objects.
Inside, we still have a spacious five-seater despite its three-door character.

Main features:

  1. A high driving height that gives it dynamism off-road and allows the vehicle to roll freely between potholes or muddy areas without major complications.

  2. The placement of a 4x4 system that will give the vehicle a marked off-road character, very practical for its real use off the asphalt, will not mount a reducer.

  3. robust look thanks to its new wheel arches, robust plastic sills and new rear and front bumpers made of a highly resistant plastic material, which will mean that receiving impacts in the field will not result in dents or chips in the paint.

  4. Robust and aggressive on the outside, but refined and welcoming on the inside, the interior will collect its occupants, providing all the safety of its standard airbags, ABS and the comfort of elements such as electric power steering or a latest generation CD.

Trims and Engines

URBAN: The simplest finish that will mount only front wheel drive, ABS as standard, electric steering, central locking, double front airbag, an exterior look package in robust plastic and in short, a vehicle that will perfectly combine a country look with urban practicality.

4XDRIVE: For the most adventurous and those who want to go further, this model will have four-wheel drive and combined with its new G3 and D3 engines will give it power to make off-road getaways and reach places where others cannot.

image
At the release date, the model will have only three engines, two latest-generation gasolines with 90 and 115 horsepower and a single 2-liter 90 HP Diesel engine.
It is not ruled out in future years to expand the range within Europe to better adapt to the needs on demand that may exist.

OOOH! That fits perfectly with the idea that’s been lurking in my mind for a long time by now - some thread presenting Automationverse cars from the same segments, so we could have in-universe reference points outside of challenges. Galleries with some basic data (like size, rough price range, engines, intended market or sth like that).

Reminds me a little of a Rover Streetwise - a relatively old platform, and there has got to be a better way than selling it than a low price - so with some creativity, old clunkers (even with it’s large facelift, the Tinto is one of the older cars on the market) turn into unique fun mobiles for the masses. There you go - Rigel doesn’t have real competition for this car.

New challenges, factories and partners.

By the end of 1997, the winds of prosperity were blowing for the Spanish company Rigel, which from this year will have a great partner for the development of its future engines and international cooperation for the continuation and creation of new projects that include new market areas not explored until now.

The integration into the European “Performance” brand will mean a great advance in the design and improvement of both gasoline and diesel engines. This group has a wealth of experience in engine development and will become an essential and key partner in the development of future fossil fuel powertrains that will be sold around the world. Until now, the vehicles will be sold as Rigel and Performance engines, only changing a badge on the tailgates of the vehicles, which will indicate that these engines have been redesigned and improved by the aforementioned group. These new ranges of engines are more efficient, using high-design parts, which will lower costs and adapt to the new Euro regulations on pollution.

In this way, a new stage opens both in engines and in design, since it will allow the European brand to explore new markets and it is doing so with new and exciting projects which we show you below:

To adapt the new international marketing strategy by the Spanish company, two new factories in Europe have been purchased. The first is located in Madrid, which will be in charge of manufacturing the new engines and expanding the manufacturing of existing vehicles, all to ease the overload that currently exists in the factories in Seville and Kansas. In the background, the purchase and restructuring of the old FSO-Daewoo facilities in Poland, which will allow the expansion of the range and the manufacture of new vehicles that are sold inside and outside Europe.

Hello friend, the development of our cars was very similar, I remember a few months ago we passed some photos and we agreed on the type of chassis. Without a doubt, the Globus Traveler is the rival to beat. All the best! :mechanical_arm:

New youtube channel and videos!

Hello everyone, first of all I would like to thank you all for the support, your likes and all the comments, since a few hours ago the BeamNG team officially uploaded a trailer with the remastering of the automation map and they used a couple of of my models. In this way I vindicate the automation community and I hope that they give us more importance, as well as a greater value so that they pay more attention to us and these video games continue to have that important connection.

I have decided to delete the previous post because I thought that I am going to do something more important, I am going to start making a series of videos about my brand and as they told you before, it would be a pleasure for me if any of you want me to try one. of your vehicles or even compare them with vehicles that I already have built under my Rigel brand, all with the permission of their respective owner can be uploaded to YouTube and thus try to create new content related to our wonderful forum and the game.

To start this project I have made a quick review of my latest Rigel model, you can see it in the link of my YouTube channel. Anyone in this forum who is interested can leave me his opinion in comments, share a vehicle with me or even why not, encourage yourselves to carry out these types of quick reviews that are fun to do and easy to do.

If you want to make a comparison of my vehicle with yours, I am interested in vehicles that are between 1987 and 2002.

Today we are going to carry out a quick review of the first minivan of the Spanish brand Rigel, it is called Ruta and it is a minivan with up to seven seats. We are going to try a high-end version called Dynamic that incorporates the 2.0 diesel engine that gives more than 100hp

RIGEL IN MERCOSUR

Finally in 1998 the European brand Rigel will begin to sell its models in certain countries in South America, the so-called Latin American countries. The agreement called Mercosur, which refers to the counterpart of the European Union in the countries of South America, will be very beneficial since Rigel vehicles will begin to be sold in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile and more than five countries associated with Mercosur. like Peru, Colombia or Uruguay.

istockphoto-1216238655-170667a

For the moment, the models called “Mercosur” will be reinforced in their chassis and will have a component of practicality and savings to be able to reach the pocket of the majority of citizens. A special emphasis has been placed on the supervision of suspensions and tires, since Latin American roads are not as well prepared as those found in the United States or Europe. Vehicles must adapt to their new destinations.

From now on, the selected models that will be sold in Latin America will be called “Mercosur” and as an example of this we can see the following models:

The Tinto family will be the first to be sold in Latin American countries, two different options can be found, the first the traditional five-door hashback and the second the new sedan that will be available in mid-1998. From the outset they will use a new engine three cylinders and 60 horsepower that is designed to give the highest reliability and the lowest cost of maintenance and manufacturing.

On the other hand, we also have other vehicles that will soon land in dealerships in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, etc., such as the fireproof Rigel Trës or the versatile Rigel el Pizarro II.

In addition, thanks to the association with Brazilian companies and the implementation of common projects, two projects for exclusive vehicles in the area are currently being developed, the first one we can show some images of, we will inform you more soon in the forum.

Rigel Tinto sedan (1998)

One year after the launch of the Rigel Tinto hatchback 5 and 3-door, the Rigel Tinto Sedan reaches the European and Latin American markets. Starting from the same base as the Tinto mk2, the manufacture of a 5-door saloon with a classic aesthetic hatchback has been achieved and that will compete against heavyweights such as the Renault Megane Classic, Opel Astra Sedan and other compact sedans of the time.

This 5-door sedan will come to the European market with three versions of equipment, in which we find more affordable models such as the classic “Young” and the top-of-the-range called “Dynamic”. It will mount the same family of engines as the Tinto hatchback and this will have a wide catalog of diesel and gasoline engines. The strongest point of the sedan with respect to the Tinto range, is its greater trunk capacity as it is a three-volume and has a large tailgate, thus increasing the cargo capacity of the trunk and turning it into a car more spacious for a family.

Versions trims and engines

Young: the version of access to the range in Europe, already known since the beginning of the Spanish brand, is designed for those who need a practical and comfortable car for day to day and who have a tighter budget. To reduce the price as much as possible, it incorporates a non-metallic paint at no additional cost, and the possibility of optionally placing hubcaps or rear headrests. Despite its low standard price, it has electric power steering, ABS brakes and dual front, passenger and driver airbags.

Business: version aimed at fleets and companies, it exclusively mounts a highly reliable 2-liter, 100 horsepower diesel engine, which makes it a perfect vehicle for traveling long distances with a very long useful life. As standard it has wheel trims, front fog lights, ABS and stability control, two front airbags and a curtain airbag and a sophisticated interior made of hard plastic and high-strength black cloth.

Dynamic: the medium version with the perfect accessories to make everyday life a simpler task. In this version we can count on the latest generation engines from the Tinto range and as well as a more premium interior and padded seats with bottle green upholstery. 16-inch alloy wheels, fog lights and complete safety equipment, as well as a rain sensor or cruise control.

Mercosur: for Latin American markets, a special finish will be launched that reduces its equipment to offer an adjusted price and at the same time adapt the vehicle to more battered roads. A new low-consumption three-cylinder engine, reinforced suspensions and a higher ground clearance are its characteristics to succeed in the Latin American markets.
