Saminda PonQi Hybrid

Engine : REB Series , REB2000 (105HP) with electric motor (37HP)

[quote]The Saminda PonQi is a hybrid electric vehicle manufactured and marketed by Saminda.

Hybrids have never been what many would consider as ‘typical’ or ‘normal’ cars. These cars have straddled two extremes on the spectrum, and in terms of the driving experience, offers arguably either too little or too much. But with the new Saminda PonQi, it’s out to change all of that.

Exterior
The new PonQi takes bold steps to advance its exterior looks. The front end is sharper, taking inspiration from the radical HCC , Saminda’s hydrogen fuel-cell car. The new PonQi now is also larger and looks sleeker and more coupe-like.

How does it drive?
It is here where the new PonQi packs the most surprises. It has been engineered with a focus on the driving experience, as highlighted by its Chief Engineer, Koichi Korenaga . The promise of both improved driving dynamics and fuel efficiency is a bold one, but one that Saminda has remarkably achieved.

The PonQi has managed to achieve many things. It offers good driving dynamics and handling, with usable everyday performance, whilst still maintaining outlandish fuel economy figures. It manages to be highly practical, with an ample boot and interior space that will comfortably fit a family of five. And it’s a fairly good-looking car to boot.

Sometimes i am wondering why do Auxuras exist or why one would buy Auxuras when they doesn’t have much big differences when Saminda look that nice too.

No wonder Auxuras is not a global brand.

Same reason Lexus exists, I suppose. The designers of the company feel that their brand isn’t “upscale” enough for what they’re trying to sell, so they create a sub-brand that’s designed for one or two markets.

Lexus existence is still logical as they got their own platform

As for Auxuras , it’s basically like Saminda “With Leather” , all the car is FWD which like what they did to Saminda , no unique platform at all.

Auxuras ETL and Saminda C5 which i did a comparision not long ago , two of them is so identical yet Auxuras cost 10k more and both of them are also sold in North America

EDIT : @Starfish94 or are you thinking that paying 50k for a Saminda is overpriced so creating another sub-brand isn’t

when will it have first recall?

I hope they won’t have to recall anything at all, as long as they tighten up their quality control standards.

Well, it seems to be more reliable than the last couple of Saminda designs. Not to mention rather good stats all around. Props to @Starfish94 for such a fetching design and getting such nice flowing headlight designs to work out in the game. This is something Maesima will have to explore in our next concept design studies.

One more thing…do my eyes and monitor deceive me or is that design not your usual black but an ultra deep red tone? In either case, compliments the design very well.

It is indeed an extremely dark red. It looks black from afar, though.

yeah the car is indeed dark red tone , i am trying something new though !

the ponqi is based on our new 1N Global Platform , next generation Saminda Sedan will use this new architect , expect better reliability.

If that isn’t the smuggest sounding gearbox name, I’ll be damned :joy:

#Saminda C2000R to make a return and retaining RWD

The Saminda C2000R is officially back.

Saminda UK VP Patrick Albert confirmed the return of the hot-hatch cult hero during a mid-year speech this afternoon

Patrick said Saminda aimed to launch the new C2000R by 2018, as his company sought to “fulfil customer expectations” along with the Front Wheel Drive Type-R

The decision to embrace a Rear Wheel Drive drivetrain would represent a significant shift in Saminda’s ideology, with the brand historically priding itself on FWD.

Saminda was forced to stop production of the previous-generation C2000R because its naturally aspirated 2.2-liter engine failed to meet a number of countries’ emissions regulations.

The C2000R will not be produced in Japan anymore and will be alongside the Type-R hatchback at Saminda’s plant in Swindon, UK

Specs have not been revealed but expect to have electric motors

Saminda is a company that always listen to customers feedback

reedit : @Yamahafazer600 yes , the new C2000R which we estimated to release latest by 2018 will be a hybrid powertrain. we cant release anymore information.

Since Saminda will have RWD platform , is it possible that we will see more RWD in other models including Auxuras in the future?

What do we have here… a rival to my RWD compact named Celsius which it has V6 and V12 in it :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, this was a most unexpected surprise! A RWD hot hatch hybrid is certainly an interesting choice I’m guessing this is going to serve as the replacement for the CZ-S too? I’m not sure how Maesima should respond to this or if we’ll have a direct competitor but I’ve got some ideas.
