Save the world!

Operation Iron Bastion

The year is 1953.

The world is tense. The Cold War is heating up, and conflicts are breaking out across rough terrain, harsh climates, and unstable regions.

Your car company has just been pulled into a classified military contract. A major Western power needs a new multi-role tactical vehicle—something tougher than a Jeep, more versatile than a truck, and cheap enough to build by the thousands.

Their current vehicles are underpowered, fragile, and struggle in mud, snow, and deserts. They want a machine that can:

• Carry troops

• Tow equipment

• Survive abuse

• Keep running with minimal maintenance

You are given one year to design a prototype:

The Iron Bastion, a battlefield workhorse that will define military mobility for the next decade.

Failure means the contract goes to your rival… and your company may never touch defense work again.

No pressure

Submit them to me with a car file to my DM’s. I will also be making YouTube video grading all of these cars outside of just the technical requirements.

Seems easy enough but when is the due date for this? Also I know you have a description of what your looking for but do you have any visual ones?

Due date is February 10 and visual is just classic military vehicle

By the way, this will be on the most recent version of automation

Will this need an interior?

Sorry for bombarding you with questions😅:

What is AKI 80 in RON and is it leaded fuel?

Needs to fit 6 Soliders: Does a Pick-Up bed count as space for 3 or 4?

And a last question are there limits to techpool and/or Qualitiy?

I haven’t seen a Discourse challenge with a military vehicle premise in a long time (and never at all in Al-Rilma so far), which makes this a refreshing change.

I feel some of the rules here limit creativity, especially on chassis and engine layouts, plus military offroaders IRL were no strangers to odd engineering choices

They are completely optional, but extra points will be added

Truck bed does count no limits on tech pool and I do believe it is a leaded fuel

could i make a tracked transport vehicle?

I don’t think the brief calls for tracked vehicles, only wheeled ones.

Are weapons allowed on the vehicle? Was planning on making an armored car.

Yes, weapons would be allowed but it has to stay in the realm of general purpose military vehicle

If you can pull that off, I will allow it, but it can only be a half track

basically I want flat engines and independent suspension unbanned here

the Austin Champ notably had MacPherson struts all around for example, and I think if it’s well set up a lightweight 2WD vehicle could be as good as a heavier 4WD one

RULES HAVE BEEN CHANGED

ALL ENGINES AND OTHER TYPES OF SUSPENSIONS ARE NOW ALLOWED

Agreed wholeheartedly

It’s my first time playing the game and I think I’ve done it, I have to finish the exterior, but can I send what I’ve done so far, so someone can tell me if I’m in the right direction? Also, how do I send this?
