1966 Serpens 1300 Alpina

Let’s kick things off with a compact premium coupe from the 60s, the Serpens 1300 Alpina.

A fun little car with a decently appointed interior and a few hints of cutting edge tech for its day here and there, such as the 5 speed gearbox, all aluminum engine with 4 valves per cylinder, and double wishbone suspension on all four wheels. You could certainly find faster cars out there from the same era, but it’s got enough speed and agility for most people to have a good bit of fun with. It’s a forgiving, relatively easy car to drive as well, as long as you can deal with a manual transmission and no power steering, both of which are fairly common for the time. Is it worth the money, though? Well, that’s for the consumer to decide.
