Should i post the files for prototype 84 publicly? I don’t want people to cheat by looking at the complete ridiculousness on how its tuned, but it might make more sense so people know that we aren’t cheating.
BETTER WORDING: I dont want people to just take the ideas from someone else. I want people to find out themselves on how to tune cars, otherwise you will never improve naturally. Laci is an incredible tuner, and i think it all comes with trial and error.
Wait, what’s a 10 year old barge doing in the Big Balls Run? Simple: it’s a driveaway.
Some old couple are retiring to the west coast and put an ad in the classifieds to hire someone to drive it to California while they take a plane. With a quick stop to a performance stop before the start to eek out some more power from the 6.6 litre V8, the team hopes to fly under the radar to the finish.
SB Entry - Cimmarono Desperado Cinq
During the planning for BMW M Division, engineer Dort quit in disgust, calling them “a bunch of weenies” (in German). So Dort crossed the pond and found himself rethinking the comprehensively terrible Cimmaron by Cadillac. Rebuilding from the ground up, Dort and his team unleashed the beast within the J-car. A mechanical diff barely shepherds 250 horses through the front tires. The chrome luggage rack out back covers a super-slidey rear end. The tasteless schmutz of the original Cimmaron lives on, so Uncle Jerry from Jersey can properly tangle with the next E30 that cuts him off, and resume cruising in style.
MB - O’Brien 101
For your Q-ship needs, the O’Brien 101 combines the placid exterior of an 80s family wagon with the power to lose a Ferrari GTO. O’Brien’s fancy interior and spaciousness (80s interior mod used for extra-squishy leather recliners) will keep you feeling fresh all across the country, while the AWD system and turbocharged boxer-6 pull you through like a locomotive on crack. She handles a little better at 90% than 100%, but one of our test drivers just laughed incoherently after flicking it sideways through our “try not to impale yourself on trees” test route.
Full-size wagon with a supercar engine (one that would be suitable for the BB class) - that’s your car in a nutshell. But 30% brake fade? That’s excessive! Then again, I assume this is meant to be a drag racer and little else.
You’re right! It doesn’t take much brakes to drive though:
drop the gas a split second early
stab the brakes once
rotate
gas it (gently!) when the front is pointed where you want to go
I find it a fun challenge to drive; lots of crashing but it feels great when I get it right. I’ll upgrade the brakes if it goes BB, since it’s $35000 rn
1984 was the last year Saarland participated in group B, with the Pfarrer Aerocoupé. It was simply becoming too hard to be on par with 4wd competition with the RWD Pfarrer.
This is the street version, built for homologation and is of course a fair bit more tame, but still no joke for its era with its 233 hp 2.4 litre DOHC inline 4.
Deadline is later today, to anyone who still wants to enter please send your car files! I am willing to give a few more hours to make a car legal if its not, but that doesn’t always happen. Submit on time if you want to please!
Remember, sunday is the SB round. I myself am very interested too in what will happen, especially since every class got an almost equal amount of entrants. I did not expect that, but that does show that a multiclass system can work.
Deadline is up! If anyone still wants to enter and has a car that is complete im giving you a few more hours, but for anyone without a complete car this is your time up.
I may not be there at todays stream, but i hope it goes well and i might be there for a short amount of time. I suggest you look at the twitch to see when he comes live, as i might not be able to notify everyone on time.
