Beta test application acceptance?

:stuck_out_tongue:

Demo! Demo! Demo! Iā€™m just kidding. Take your time and do a good job.

Yeah, we had a fairly unproductive few weeks for a few reasons, mostly sickness on my part and various work we had to get done on my car on the weekends.

Weā€™re kind of ramping up again now, but not much to show off yet

hehhe, donā€™t mind me, Iā€™m just feeling impatient

Do you have a timeframe you are looking at before some more videos etc?

Not sure at the moment, we try to show stuff off as often as we can, but the stuff weā€™re working on at the moment is pretty dry and boring.

For example Iā€™m currently writing descriptions of all the different types of differential, you probably donā€™t want to see a video of thatā€¦ :stuck_out_tongue:

good to know that things are getting going again i was a little worried for a while

But I want!

ā€˜Round thing with cogs insideā€™

There you go, you can use that, next?

ā€˜There are some differentials with cogs that can slip, but only a little bit. These are known as limited slip differentials. No-one knows how they work, some say they work by using the trapped essence of old Group 2 Rally drivers.ā€™

ā€œAnd that if you weld it up, like this:

Youā€™ll get drastically improved cornering performance. All we know is, that itā€™s called a diff!ā€

butā€¦butā€¦ without that info we canā€™t nitpick at the fine details :stuck_out_tongue:

Pfft, everybody knowā€™s the magic pixies slow the spinning side down by applying their little boots to the cogs Flintstones-style.

Iā€™m confused on that one. The gears are not meshing there and thats the ring gear and pinion welded together. That wouldnt even go into the diff case set up like that much less allow the drive shaft or axles to be able to spin. I think you meant to post something like this.

Also, holy shit there are some very ugly welded diff pictures on google. Like to the point I dont think they knew how to weld or the concept behind a welded diff.

Leafy I ā€œthinkā€ your sarcasm meter need adjusting.

Whooosh.

Here you go, specialist lightweight skip-tooth design diff:

Also giveā€™s an audible speed-related ā€˜clackā€™ so you tell what speed youā€™re doing without looking down at the speedometer!

Yup, that photo is from the epic ā€œI welded my diff, what did I do wrongā€ thread
