This thread is open after the cars released on HA Automotive.I talked with numerous of mechanics to be a little period correct and limit incoherent choices.So no shitstorm here or rude answers or assimilate.Thanks.if a choice isn’t period correct write me a constructive answer and i will answer at it.Cars are pre-made so i worked on before posting them. Thanks
History
SPAF was created by two french ex military mechanics:Alain de Fontenoy and Jacques Aliat.In 1960 they launch they’re very first car.And after the sucess of that car they realized that they’re capable of building cars with nice qualities and they’re main objective was building car that are suitable for any types of customers.
1960:The Beginning
Designed after a well knowed car by Jacques Aliat,this is the first SPAF car.Equiped with a 2.0 OHC engine with Twin Single Eco Carburators,this was designed for important people like CEO’s.
After the Dorea they decide to work on a city car with good innovations (on security) and improvements (on drivability) so the Klea was born.Powered by a 1.0 OHC that produced 36hp.It was also available in Van or Pick-Up configuration to fit any kind of use
Right off the bat consistent styling. I like that.
License plates for ants though
the design of most european cars have always revolved around integrating our gigantic license plates into the lines, it is also true for that era also they have been mandatory front and rear since forever.
1970:The Evolution
When Alain de Fontenoy and Jacques Aliat realize the success of there two first models,they decide to produced an upgraded version of there cars.So Jacques Aliat decide to design the Klea 2 with a totally new body design and new engine selection.Result was improved comfort and security.Also they introduced a finish level:
ST=Standard
PR=Premium
Sport
3 Engine available:1.2 OHC (47hp),1.6 OHC (for Standard and Premium,72hp) and Sport Version (104hp)
And,in parallel, the Dorea 2 was released.But now they decide that this car must be a Sport oriented coupe due to popular demand.So Alain de Fontenoy worked on a new SOHC Engine.At the end it result a nice comfort,good drivability and high sportivity with a very good security.
2 engines available:1.8 SOHC 2V (104hp) and 2.3 SOHC (142hp)
1980:The Recognition
After the sucess of the Klea 2 and the engagment in competition for the Dorea 2 Sport,Alain de Fontenoy and Jacques Aliat realize that they’re now famous for there car.But customer’s request changed.Now big cars was requested.So Jacques Aliat decide to design the T1.But he realized that he doesnt have an engine adapted to that and Alain De Fontenoy said that he made an engine four years ago,in 1976,that can fit inside.So the T1 was born!.Also a Family variant is available with 7 seats.
The Klea 3 is the third iteration of the Klea.Designed by Jacques Aliat in 1980 with new body design and new engines this car was made to be easy to drive in dense cities.With very good drivability,good comfort and security.
3 Engines available: 1.5 SOHC 2V(61hp),1.9 SOHC 3V(84hp) and 2.0 SOHC T 3V (135hp/Turbo)
I mean a LOT of post-war european cars were heavily inspired by american cars. But that eventually dried up in the mid 1970s, when everything became a box.
1990:The Affirmation
1990 was an interesting year in terms of innovations for SPAF.When Jacques Aliat trying new designs and Alain de Fontenoy uses new technology to produce better engines,is the affirmation for SPAF.The T2 a revised version of the T1 to even better fit the European Market was released.New body,design,comfort and finally an adequate engine.
1 Engine available:30 DOHC (210hp)
2000:The Final Cars
In 2008 SPAF launched there last cars before stopping producing car due to important issues in the brand itself.So Jacques Aliat produced the last iteration of the Klea:The Klea V
3 engine available:1.3 Eco (76hp),1.9(140hp) and 3.0 V6 DOHC (190hp)
