ok, i know about divisons and in-house tuners will be around, but what about companies that just develop specialist parts?
Nardi steering wheels, hand-made from wood in Italy
Brembo brakes, again made by Italians and are the go to guys to get performance brakes
Sparco seats and apparel, again Italians
Killrob made a great quote (as usual) about the issue:
His quote was specifically about tires, but applies for all other parts of the car such as brakes, engine, etc. Secondly, you cannot choose different steering wheels. There will be “three selections of interior packages: Interior (from basic to luxury/handmade), Safety Equipment (from none to advanced) and Entertainment (from none to luxury).” So no option for customizing steering wheel/seats.
So what you are saying, is that you, as a company, can sell just parts, to be bought by targetgroups? Like, young drivers that want to fit their VW Golf mark IV with brembo brakes, for example?
Way too deep if you ask me, for now. Though I see it as a fun addition, that you could just sell carparts. But that would mean you would have to design those parts individually.
I think that the idea strays too far from the main idea of Automation. The game is supposed to be a intuitive and in-depth car tycoon game, not a game full of confusing options and micromanagement. I think that designing specialist parts is just not fun. Would you buy the game “Steering Wheel Designer Tycoon”?
Neither would I.
think of it this way - a check option to have better whatever part installed from this company which would make the car more desirable or less desirable
As far as I know, there will not be an option to do that, nor will the devs add it. The devs have made it quite clear that there will be three selections of interior packages: Interior (from basic to luxury/handmade), Safety Equipment (from none to advanced) and Entertainment (from none to luxury). The devs have not stated that they will make it any different, or add checkboxes.
Daffy, will we be able to make a 2010 car with no optionals like in 1950?
Or will we be forced to add a standard equipment? You know I like the statement of Henry Ford!
I mean my question was about the “real” creation “low-cost” sub-brand (or main brand, depends on the type of game I want to “choos”), If I would project a Dacia-like or Tata-like cars I’ll need a almost modern chassis and engine, but no or very rare optionals, but not only in a budget/city car, but also in a low-cost station wagon or MPV or SUV.
