wait… you’ve been doing it manually all that time O_O
b-b-b-b-but why?

Because raisins.
Also the fuel stage has been calculated… and the results are… well… Im going to post them a bit later, when Im actually near a computer that has those calculations.

First stage complete. Congratulations to those who finished and to those who didn’t.

Lol I love this great job dude

that snarky comments is always glorious.

and 0.09l is quite a bit more than what i expected. i should’ve been able to squeeze out a tiny bit of syringe squirt more.

btw @phale. i loved that cutout.

Looks like I managed to not build the eco-car this time! V8 and Turbo seems to be not a bad choice so far. Now let’s see if I managed to make enough compromises to keep competitive, or whether I’ll have a repeat of '75.

@phale a HA! I know what you did there. That’s what I did for my third prototype… 395 rears included. It’s formidably quick, to be sure… but I’m fairly confident it also has about half the drivability…

I think getting cut at the first stage is such an ignominious way to go that this time around, everybody (especially @koolkei) did their math properly. So now we’re all ready for a real race!

I was worried that this first challenge was gonna be close for me and now i have finish with over 30 Liters of fuel. i guess i should have gone to 450 hp or even more but at least i am in the next round. on to the next one

Stage 2 complete. Will take a break now and pick this up tomorrow with stage 3.

nooooooo, why did it have to rain? we all know what happens to poorly set up MR cars in the rain!!

lol @ host getting knocked out of their own contest.

Not that it would be fair for the host to make a car that would actually win, knowing the rules, but it’s a shame since that was such a good looking car…

I’ll tell you one thing, though.

I’m running 500bhp.

I had 600hp and a bit over 700 lb-ft, but maybe hauling around over 2 tons was a bit excessive. Oh well, I should have gone more in depth on my maths. Still a good contest, and I’m eager to see if strop can keep his lead in the battle stages.

I loved how I managed to take the last position in the top 16 for less then 1s from Squidhead!
But even if I’m running a 491hp 6.3 Turbo V8 with just 1200Kg, I think I have messed up with the tires, just 215 front and 235 rear…

And @phale, how you managed to let half engine out of the car??? I loved it!

Well, a short run, I suppose that’s what I get for a last-minute modified sedan.

I’m glad to see that my turd did a decent time on the second stage. Sucks that it didn’t make the cut. Next time there will defenitly be pie.

Oh and the LED strips are… well let me think a couple of days for a good excuse.

Looks like the last-minute replacement V8 did the trick and pushed that thing into the 3rd stage. :astonished:

Btw. mentioning replacing and just reading beta tester, I4 and V8 beyond 4 liters displacement fitted perfectly fine in that car, that push-rod V6 I intended first I could make 5.7 liter but once I tried to put any other head on it I had to make it smaller than 2 liter or else it was shown as being too long. Is it some peculiar shape of the engine bay causing this, a general problem/bug with V6 (head) size or some individual problem with my client/car to blame for that somewhat odd behavior?

Back to topic, yes, it’s a shame about the hosts car, I liked that looks too. For nialloftaras car as well, was my inspiration to make that car different, perhaps to finish a car at all in time, and to visit the steam workshop to go looking for those pipes.

Have to say, I didn’t expect such a good track standing from the plucky little homage car…

…because I had to run with 235mm tires to leave any room for brakes. (The flared Golf body had more space for tires, but not the right looking wings). Thankfully I could make it fairly light compared to the power output from the five liter V8.

For Your Ears Only:

i am pleasantly surprised i placed that high O_O
it’s an MR, doesnt have that much power and only 245 rear. and 9th? good enough :stuck_out_tongue:
