Test Driver Short Shifting?

Seems like my test driver is short-shifting to keep traction in the first two gears. Its really messing with my ability to tune the gearing and judge wheelspin. Im wondering if I’m just hearing/seeing things or if the test driver will in fact do that?

(Side complaint: I’d really like the ability to set gear ratios to combat wheelspin in low gear).

The driver will shift earlier if that is better for the overall situation, like more power in the next gear. Not entirely sure what other factors play into that though. We haven’t touched those calcs in a loooong time.
