The Automation Gamer Challenge [NEW THREAD]

PRESENTING:

The KEAI

The embodiment of outdoor exploration.

Sales Pitch

Why a convertable?

Why, Bokemon has always been a game about adventure and exploration, about making friends and having fun in the great outdoors. No other car best embodies this atmosphere of outdoor excitement than the convertible, and no other convertible embraces this atmosphere better than the Keai.

The Keai (pronounced “kuh-aye,”) is the perfect car for a game like Bokemon. The simple yet adorable styling sets the tone for a fun-packed adventure, allows the car to look great without stealing the spotlight, and ensures the car is lovably memorable, so that it will become fondly iconic for decades to come. Plus, players can choose their own 2-tone color livery, so that every Keai is unique!

The intensely engineered driving dynamics also make the car easy enough for anyone to control with pleasure. The engine makes a lot of torque evenly across all rpms, to ensure the acceleration is responsive whenever needed. The well-tuned suspension allows it to be comfortable for long, sunny highway cruises. And the front-wheel drive and small size ensure the car is easy enough for anyone to get in on the fun. Plus, the very fuel efficient engine means gas is not a concern, so you can just hop in and go out to explore!

The Keai is also filled to the brim with technology; A VVL, an electronic automatic system, an LSD, vented disc brakes, an hidden automatic convertible top, a prime quality CD player, electronic power steering, traction control, and semi-active dampers are some of the things that will blow the minds of today’s teenagers. And all this for a price you will not believe: $27,500!

So put the top down, head out, and explore the Banto region, with the wind flowing around you and your starter Borb flying alongside you. See what cool places you might see, what Bokemons you might catch, and what friends you might find along the way. The world is yours in your Keai!

(Also, bike. 2 seats so bokemon friend can join.)

Yes that would be preferred

1985 Arco Sincope Velocittà

A small RR hatch full of plenty of pep for the Bokemon protagonist

And its tiny bike friend, the 1985 Arco Velocittà Bombo!

Together they’ll allow the Bokemon protagonist and their entourage to terrorize the Banto region.

Prepare for trouble, and make it double

Specs and More Pics

The Arco Sincope Velocittà has a peppy little 1.4 L, DOHC turbo i4 in the rear, providing excellent handling characteristics and agility, as well as traction for the unpaved routes in the Banto region. An economical 4 speed manual adds to this, giving full control over the torque and wheelspin in this quite small car and giving it a 0-60 time of 8.35 seconds. Despite the size, there’s plenty of space in the Sincope for 5 people, and to keep the kids playing this game from asking what an “8 track” is, a cassette player has been fitted as standard.

The Velocittà Bombo mini bike that comes with the Sincope is more than enough bike to come in this $20,400 bundle. Powered by a 400cc, 40 hp i3, it has almost too much pep for its size, being limited to 40 mph (though this limit can be surpassed easily with some Sendo co tinkering).

I just have a suggestion for the future.

Since all the last AGC rounds have had the deadline extended to two weeks, how about keeping that some kind of standard for the future?

It is not really fair for the people that have tried to keep the original deadline to have to compete against people that have had one more week for refinement.

True, but both the current and previous rounds were extended mostly due to lack of entries, and the entries that were in on time were posted decently before the deadline. What would make more sense would be to have slightly longer entry periods or to stagger them with the other challenges that are going on so that there isn’t as much competition for people’s attention.

meant to get this out much earlier but I’ve been quite busy this past week

@BannedByAndroid - Hinata Dawn 1.1

The car’s overall styling is pretty good and it sports good stats having the best drivability. The bike is kind of a letdown since it is a normal sized bicycle instead of a compact motorbike which was requested so it will not be considered as a starter, but it may be added without the bike as a purchasable vehicle.

@DuceTheTruth100 - Wobb

The thing that immediately stands out is the large off-colored bike which obviously needs some revision. The car’s design is good, but the fuel economy is not as it only gets 19 mpg which happens to be the lowest. It also has the highest sportiness which is a bit overkill for this game. Due to the needed revisions it will not be considered as a starter vehicle.

@bilobilo - Hõgai Jari Turbo

A compact suv with good overall styling and color choices, the addition of the window banner is a good touch. The bike’s skeletal design works well for this application. Overall stats are pretty good with the outlier being its low comfort. It will be considered as a starter vehicle.

@Arn38fr - Daiwaii DC2

A rear-engined car with clean and simple styling and same goes for the bike as well. Its drivability is rather low and has average fuel economy, but its other stats are good having the best comfort. It will be considered as a starter vehicle.

@Edsel - Keai

A bright pink convertible with an overall design that seems a bit basic with some small-sized fixtures. I love the idea of a two-seater, but the bike is way too small, and it’s floating. Although a bit sluggish, it’s overall stats are pretty good. With the needed revisions it will not be considered as a starter.

@Jaimz68 - DMC Ymp

The car’s overall design doesn't seem very cohesive and the itasha on the side doesn’t help. The bike is just one of the mod bikes with different colors which is just kinda lazy. The overall stats are good but they aren't enough to save it. With the changes needed to be done it will not be considered.

@RAZR - Manda Hertz Turbo Z

A white hatch with nice overall styling although the rear seems a bit cluttered with badging. The bike's design is good, being sleek and simple. Drivability is a little on the low side, but the other stats are quite good. It will be considered as a starter vehicle.

@Riley - Zephorus Go!

Another white hatch with good overall styling and detail in and out. The bike’s design is very good being sleek and futuristic. A suspension revision will be needed as it has the lowest comfort, but its other stats are good boasting the best fuel economy(54 mpg). It will be considered as a starter vehicle.

@Portalkat42 - Arco Sincope Velocitta

Yet another white hatch, but instead of being FF this one is RR. The overall styling and detail in and out is very good. The bike’s design is also good being very detailed and sleek. It has the lowest drivability, but its other stats are good and its design help make it up. A revised version with an automatic will be considered as a starter vehicle.

Thanks for this challenge! For me, I SUPER enjoyed designing the car since I considered it at the time to be a one-off when compared to my current designs, so I pretty much experimented. So I might do more with that car, not sure yet.

Now the bike…that damn bike lol…

I almost gave up a few times due to those damn 3d fixtures!! I’ve never used those before and they really made me rack my brain. Kinda makes me appreciate the mirror function, as my experimental body lines are only on one side of the bike (not shown)…which matchs the cars lines on the side…I was hoping you would show the bike from its “good” side…its all good.

Me and engine tuning still have a ways to go…and 3d fixtures…I’ll get it though…soon.

I think I feel the same way. Just being able to make something that even vaguely looks like a bike is itself cause for celebration!

I do wish more had been specified as to how the bike would be judged, but otherwise this was a great challenge with a really fun concept! (:
