The Car Shopping Round (Round 64): Tears in Heaven

  1. just after i thought my designs were actually pretty good this time ^this came
  2. didn’t even realize there were some new stuff
  3. your V6 is as big as my V8, yet it revs just as high (making much more power though)

I rather like the front treatment on your design. Although I have to say it’s hard to work with that body since it offers so little adjustment so any design using it is kind of set to classic muscle car look. But I think you did a pretty good job of making your one look unique upfront though.

Yeah, there have been a load of new bodies I haven’t had time to try them all out properly yet!

Interesting your chose around 3.6 litres too eh? I wouldn’t mind looking at the stats on that engine.

Somehow I missed this one being updated, perhaps next round.

no problem.

here you go

oh it’s still an MPFI engine

Ooh pretty, and yes, I love that body. But decided it looked a bit too out there for this round. But still, damn man. Awesome.

Yeah, I wasn’t quite sure what we are aiming for so I very much doubt I’ll win but it was really fun to try out that body since I don’t usually make cars like this. Which body did you end up using then?

@koolkei Your engine a lot more fuel efficient though and better emissions. Now I think maybe I should have gone with a V8

After seeing these new designs, I am starting to wonder if a small car powered by a straight-four might not have been the right choice for this round…:disappointed_relieved:

that’s an unexplainable habit of mine. i somehow tend to make engine that makes relatively low emissions no matter the config/setup, except for racing engines.

your V6 revs as high, makes more power at lower RPM, and i assume is cheaper than mine except if you put a ton of quality point into it. it’s probably just a good as mine tbh. maybe even lower running cost even.

I wouldn’t really care about making a competitive entry right now.
Speaking of, I am actually thinking of submitting the same car with pretty much the same configuration but different engines to this CSR round and the current Drag Racing Challenge. The CSR entry will actually have less displacement! But less is more, at least when we’re talking about 250+ hp/l

Aaaand it has been done. I ended up with 272 hp/l, in an FF city car, that goes down Haruna faster than my recent Tare RAX, yet costs something over 16000 including markup. Though, Drivability and Sportiness are on the more wicked side :stuck_out_tongue:
And it revs to 12000RPM. More to follow, got to sleep!

Isn’t the markup 50%?

:hear_no_evil:

yeah it is

using aluminium over fiber glass is more expensive option

yup. i dun derped
let me see if i can fix that asap

We at Adenine are a big fan of your idea for a new spec series racing league, and we’ve considered your requirements carefully. We realized that one of the biggest expenses in running a racing league is track maintenance. It doesn’t matter how cheap the cars are if the tracks need to be kept in perfect shape just to prevent small bumps from destroying the suspension.

That’s why our proposed car is designed to be raced in the dirt under the most extreme of conditions. Dirt tracks are inexpensive, cheap to maintain, and in our humble opinion, more exciting than asphalt tracks. The Ardent, named after the legendary car that won the Dalnit-Bralka Rally back in '65, is equipped with 205/55R15 hard compound tires, all-wheel drive, and an offroad skidtray for capable performance in the dirt. It’s powered by a 2.5L naturally aspirated V6 producing a healthy 300 horsepower. The engine runs on regular 91RON pump gas and is tuned for optimum efficiency at high speeds.

The Ardent has low running costs, excellent reliability, and is built for being pushed to its limits, day in and day out. We can deliver this all for a cost of $18600 per car.

Eh, when’s the deadline exactly? I can’t finish my car tonight, flight got delayed, and I have a long day tomorrow.

Midnight UTC today.

Damn. Ok, I won’t make it! Next time then…

IT’S GREEN
IT’S MEAN
and is a totally normal car for absolutely normal human wormbabies like you and me!

Tare Zim with MOSO Race* tuning *Not including sport options

Now invading your local circuits and touges!

The premise was first “build a smaller car or hot hatch” and “highest redline”. This turned into “build a city/kei car trimmed to race spec” and “let’s make lots of power out of a kei-sized engine”.
May not be at all competitive, drivability being only a bit over 30 and sportiness around 42. Except there was an upper limit to drivability to maybe keep the car challenging? I got an excuse for traction control: My AcDiff system is (virtually) symbiotic with it, and is to prevent understeer from wheelspin! AcDiff is always ready for trAction :stuck_out_tongue:
Anyways, might be useful against D-selected  :

And this post is totally not littered with soft references to some particular cartoons/anime/comics. Thus, the question remains, what does the tachometer say about its redline? IT’S OVER 9000!!!

Ohh, look where this little car has gone to now!

A FWD entry? Damn, that’s brave. I just sort of Bolted an engine to a body, and hoped for the best.

The Shromet Coupe! Powered by a 7.3 liter V8 Making 511 Horsepower, and 411 Pound/Feet of Torque. Further advertisement needed? I think not.

But a fwd smart car with a 14s quarter mile and that level cornering? Sounds like a lot of fun to me!

(Like hairy fun. Very hairy)
