The Car Shopping Round (Round 64): Tears in Heaven
I just opted out of the open beta, and some of the imported cars seem to cost around $300 less than advertised. But if that’s the only difference, i am fine by using the standard version.
well that’s an instant automation discount

The open beta started earlier today, the version before that was the official release of the December open beta.

Ah okay, i see. I think the best we stay on the official December release then. Switching between the beta and the official release is pretty easy on steam at least.

A new approach to the hot hatch. Erin have taken the normal Merna X and ecofied it. Just as practical as the base model, with good performance to match and the same excellent handling found on the X trim.

So you want a nice new car, but you’re not some high level, 6 or 7-figure salaried big shot that can throw money at a luxury car with a big V8 and all the fixings. Well not to worry son, because Boss Motorsports has you covered. We know not everyone can throw 75-150k at a big shot executive car. So while our top of the line sedan, the Boss Executive, may be a little much for your budget, we still have the perfect car for you: The Boss Motorsports Manager.

The Boss Manager is for the hard working folk who haven’t made it big (yet), but still want to impress with their choice in automobiles. The Boss Manager will make your colleagues jealous while still keeping your wallet happy. For $25460 the manager has all the right features to keep things professionally exciting.

Mechanically, you’ll find a 3.7L DOHC 4-valve V6 mated to a 6-speed double clutch sequential transmission that puts power down to all four wheels. That’s right, this puppy can get you to and from work in rain, snow, sleet, or shine. Your ride will be comfortable, yet responsive thanks to a double-wishbone setup all around that has a mild sports tune. Not to worry though, you’ll find that the shocks and tires are common types that will be easily attainable when proper maintenance schedules warrant their replacement. However, with attention to durability, you won’t be seeing a service department for quite some time. Even if you do, for the first 5 years and 50,000 miles you’ll enjoy a bumper-to-bumper warranty.

On the inside you’ll find 5 premium leather seats standard. You get your standard infotainment of the day including AM/FM/SAT with Bluetooth hands-free capabilities. You’ll also find a plethora of USB ports mounted on the center stack, in the console, and in the rear of the car for your passengers. We’ve also included two 110V outlets (compatible with 220V European outlets) to go along with the two 12V power points. Furthermore, this car makes driving easy with a full range of traction control, ABS, stability control, and of course power steering driver assists. Want to push the envelope a little? No problem, just toggle the assists you want active at any given time and truly personalize your experience. Just in case things get too aggressive, we’ve made sure to equip the manager with the most advanced safety equipment available.

We at Boss Motorsports take the time to make sure that all of our vehicles have that sporty feel. You can cruise to the tune of 30 combined US MPG (capable of exceeding 40 US MPG Highway), or let all 232 HP hit the pavement and rocket past 60 MPH in a mere 6.5 seconds. This vehicle is meant to add that extra pep to your commute in a way only Boss Motorsports knows how. Be sure to get your hands on this fun sports sedan. We promise you, it punches above its weight class and will leave you satisfied with every finely engineered driving experience.

so we’re using the non-beta build?

i was kinda expecting to go along with the beta build, but lowering down cost limit

It’s easy to revert back. Just opt out on Steam, it’ll go back to the public release. Then just make the car, send it, and opt into the beta again to get all the new toys the devs gave us

but, iirc, doesn’t opting ‘back into beta’ means redownloading the entire game?

It’s an update, not the entire game. Opting out “updates” to the previous version, and opting in updates back to the beta.

There’s also a back-up of your entire Automation folder prior to the new update, so that if anything goes wrong and you have to downgrade, you can use the files in there to fix it. It’s a .zip called ‘B160308’, in your “My Games” folder.

oh neat. also, i remembered that was when i opt in the beta for the first time, steam re-downloaded the entire game all over.

Zero compromises for 26040$.

This is the base model 2015 Horus Heliodor.

A well equipped, comfy, spacious and tame family hatchback. It is reasonably priced and rather good at what it’s intended to do.

It is, however, not the car you want. Luckily for you, the one you do want is right next to it in the showroom.

The Heliodor ATD.
The base model chassis has been handed over to the reclusive gearheads and nerds at the Advanced Tech Division, who proceeded to make a number of changes to make it more exciting. This is the result of their efforts. The bodywork has been streamlined and the wheel arches flared to give the car a wider stance and accommodate wider tires. The direct injected 1.8l 4-cylinder engine has been fitted with a turbocharger and now spits out 210 hp which then gallop through a 6-speed sequential transmission towards all four wheels. This propels the car to 100kph in 7.4 seconds and on to a top speed of 223kph. The suspension has been redesigned and fitted with active rollbars and dampers. Further enhancing the driving experience is an electronic stability and traction control system and the little wing at the back is no ordinary prop either; it too is wired to the car’s brain and actuated to alter the angle of attack for optimal aerodynamic characteristics. The effect of these changes on handling is profound.

This isn’t just a good track car though. The premium interior finish from the base model is still here, and so is the touchscreen controlled vehicle management and entertainment system. The suspension is sporty but not backbreaking. The steering is precise but not unpredictable. When you’re done throwing it into corners, it seats 4 people in comfort and does 29.5MPG (US) in mixed driving as they navigate towards their destination.

The Horus Heliodor ATD can be yours today for $26565.

Introducing the 2015 Daiki Falcon.

The car is a rather inexpensive pure sports car weighing at less than 1300 kg, while coming with a V12 engine.

The car’s interior is fully covered by some cloth, with all plastic surfaces excluding buttons hidden. It features a stereo AM/FM/satellite radio and a CD player, with an aux input for input from portable music players, connected to two speakers.
Salesperson’s Note: It is possible to make up for the… somewhat lackluster interior by bringing your smartphone inside the car, so please keep reading.
The performance factor is what we focused on with this car, with the aforementioned V12 engine producing 291 hp and 328 ft, which is mated to a sequential DCT with 6 gears and a Viscous LS differential. This, when coupled with the standard tires and electronic gadgets such as launch control, allows the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 in just 5.1 seconds with ease and reach 263 km/h while it can decelerate from 100 to 0 within 32 meters.
The car’s suspension is tuned to be reasonably sporty, with some sense of comfort.
The car is capable of going around the Green Hell in under 8:22 if driven by a professional driver.

Automotives on the cheap

This is not a Rado. This is a Sofa 1100-T, made in Russia. It has been around for 50 years, and it in an earlier form participated in the BRC.
The engine is a 1.1L Turbo-4 cylinder with a 2V DAOHC head. There is no intercooler, the Turbo uses Journal bearings, it only has single-point EFI, and no VVL or VVT. Power is sent to the rear wheels via an open diff and a 4-speed manual gearbox. It uses a body-on-frame construction with MacPherson struts up front and a solid axle with leaf springs in the back and no anti-roll bars anywhere. The tires are of a hard compound. Inside is a basic interior with the only driver assist being power steering and for entertainment is a stereo that doesn’t work. The safety features are quite a bit off in timing and are fairly basic. What is all this car for? 8938 Automation Units.

how much does fuel matter?

if i pick 91 over 95, would you consider it more?
