The Car Shopping Round (Round 64): Tears in Heaven

i think bob mention the entertainment system will be stripped for equipment

Yep, I just re-read the posts. Gee, If I was paying more attention to the details, naaa, it’s good as is.

I mostly build stuff for the CSR just to see the reviews on the choices I’ve made. I wonder how well the police department will like my premium seats +4, electronic assists +4, and advanced safety (+3 I think?).

probably went well if you can lower the price but 12 car bit too low for me

No entry from me this round, even though I had the nice idea of bringing in a late 90s Tare Pratinum that I would’ve designed today.
Instead I’ve spent the entire day recovering from a nauseating hangover courtesy of last night’s company Christmas party. A varied mix of much beer, whiskey and liquor does that to you.
Good luck to everyone :relaxed:

After a last-minute setback at the engine factory, it has now been decided that the Utility Cruiser will not use a 3.8L V6, but rather use an improved version of the Ambience’s standard 2.2L I4 turbo. This engine is considerably more efficient and can still pull 0-62 in 6.8 seconds. As a bonus, since we can produce the police version of the engine on the same assembly line as our standard engine, the price has been reduced to $13860.

I’m going to try to knock these out as quickly as possible, I have a fair bit of RL things going down at the moment, so there will likely be delays, but this will not be forgotten. I’m pretty excited as there is a very diverse selection to choose from.

The entertainment gets stripped? Aw! Should read the brief more closely.

Guess from a lore POV my car was pre-conversion so that’s more consistent with how it would have been sold to the public. I’ll go with that :joy:

fuck I wasted my money and lowered my reliability for nothing :unamused:

Final Wapiti Police spec

At only $17270 this is a bargain. already fitted out with led blue and two’s as well as a front pit bar, lexan windows and a molded rear bench seat which allows crooks to sit while handcuffed.
There is a AM/FM radio as well as the majority of police equipment pre-fitted such as computer plug in points an speed radar, uhf radio, digital police radio, rear trunk with weapons rack, stinger spikes, bulletproof jackets and high visibility clothing.

The engine is a stroked 4.6 DOHC Ford crate engine commonly known as the 5.0 Cammer which is an iron block aluminum headed v8 producing 351Hp and 419Nm, it is a simple to fix engine and parts are cheap, if or when the bottom end needs replacing you can be assured that there are no unique parts just a FPR forged crank and steel rods with the oversize forged pistons.
Performance wise 0-100km/H in 5.2 seconds with only 7% wheel-spin and a top speed of 250Km/H via a Automatic flappy paddle 5sp gearbox and a viscous rear LSD. Heavy duty suspension and under body trays protect the vehicle on the off chance that off roading or curb hopping occurs in the line of duty. Possibly one of the safest Police vehicles you can buy.

DSD Not Just Another Car

Just read this dude. Up here in QLD we have Ford falcons or Toyota Aurions on the highways but in town you will see a lot of Hyundai i30’s buzzing about Brisbane city center and we even have Toyota Corolla’s in Hi-vis paint jobs

Since the deadline is closed, all the FUD can stop now.

The Ornate Serviceman

While the Serviceman is slower and less agile than it’s competitors, it’s practical, cheap to run and future proof. The Serviceman is equipped with a 1.8l turbo-i6 engine that uses VVL and VVT that helps it deliver a respectable 120 hp while remaining ultra-efficient giving it’s best-in-the-class mileage of 41.7 mpg

The Serviceman isn’t the fastest patrol car you can go with as it has a 0-100 time of 10.7 seconds and the top speed of 201 km/h but it is one of the most spacious and practical patrol car as it features 4048 liters of passenger and 1538 liters of cargo space, meaning you can always have extra backup officers in the car as well as all the supplies you need.

The Serviceman makes no cuts to safety either as it is uses an AHS Steel chassis and CR Steel panels, and comes with the latest safety features from passenger airbags to reinforced roof pillars. And all of this comes for a budget price of $11,880, meaning you can get 21 of these vehicles to replace your aging fleet and with low running costs thanks to it’s efficient and reliable engine, these are going to pay themselves in no time.

uhhh… yeah… that’s a paddy wagon?

Well, It needed to have utility and be practical, so why not go with a minivan?

I decided to clone my trim and tweak it a bit… Ended up with a less comfortable car, but, I could have replaced up to 14 vehicles in the fleet instead of 12. It’ll probably be what’s nit-picked in the review (along with fuel economy cuz Automation), but that’s ok.

gee, 41 mpg with a van?!?! @Ornate wow! But I don’t think it’ll be discouraging any crime very often, :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
