If you are getting 40 mpg, it means you made a commuter and not a hot hatch.

I wouldnā€™t consider 150ish hp (and 40 sportiness) to be expected from a commuter car in this time period.

I am getting around 140 HP and 34 mpg (us) so I might have to reduce weight on my car or work on the engine a bit more.

40 is the benchmark? Oh crap, I built a tiny dragster instead of a hot hatch.

No not necissarily, itā€™s just whenever i build a hatchback i always try to make it ultra efficient.

I mean 40 sportiness, my 252 hp behemoth gets 26 mpg.

Now how can I get more than 15 more sportiness our of my carā€¦

Turboā€™s can yield massive gains in sportiness, but you have to keep in mind a number of things:

  1. If you lean out the AFR, sportiness goes down as throttle response is slower.
  2. Donā€™t forget lag. If you donā€™t know what youā€™re doing you might kill drivability all for sportiness points.
  3. Itā€™s heavier - worse driveability and sportiness
  4. And reliability is something you need to watch carefully.

Sporty car? Of course that Zavir is coming to the party, especially since the new Cittadino just got released in 1996 (luck :grin:). So, here it is, Cittadino III Sportivo, (literally) a ton of naturally aspirated fun!

Few things about this little rocket:

  • 1.7 I4 with over 170hp
  • under 7s from 0 to 100
  • Z-line yellow colour unavailable in standard Zavirs
  • based on the smallest Zavir, being also the only Zavir with FWD
  • 15 700 $ and itā€™s yours :slight_smile:

So 37 UK MPG, and over 180 hp. This should be fun.

@ramthecowy you have a point. I actually did consider using a turbo engine initially, but didnā€™t want to sacrifice throttle response, drivability and reliability in the name of mid-range torque, hence my decision to use a normally-aspirated engine instead.

you knowā€¦ quite some people will get triggered over that one lineā€¦

we all know whoā€™s the real turbo tuner king here. (i also didnā€™t mean me. iā€™m okay at it. not good)
