Judging by the first set of reviews, simpler cars with simpler engines (preferably those with the right amount of displacement per cylinder) and simpler tech (but not too little of it) apparently have a better chance of making the first cut…
When the Communist-Socialist Revolution is still going…
…we propose Taore 712 “Arsenik” to power peoples movement!
This car has secretly tested since 70s, sold to unsuspecting Westerners when they wanted cheap economik vehicule. It proved nicely, and for us proletarians, we made it even better.
Removed components that could fail, instead added parts that get you progressed. We kept receiver so your people can listen to great Obristan anthem on their journeys through glorious motherland. Kept aerodynamik body design and big lifting rear door. We also think that Obristan family deserves the comfort of a standard issue cloth seats and heating system for harsh winter. For traction on snow, we designed differential with slush linkage.
Three speeds of easy to use manual gears are enough for the stronk 1.2l three cylinder engine to get you into movement. It is using our proven development in valve system, with three valves directly actuated by single cam, no rocker arms! Valves are aligned like д with two intake valves and one exhaust, all of same size for making production convenient.
Best thing about engine: Does not require komplicated electronik stuff, so is easy to repair. Because of clean Obristan fuel, you do not have to have it hindered by katalytik like western car, as such gives back 42 horsepower to the people! Oh, and entire engine can be made in foundry!
We estimate distribution cost to be at 6900.
great reviews!
in the meantime we will dispatch our spies to sell illegal imports of our sleeper with a reasonable markup!
Been there, done that.
All I’m going to say in my ‘defence’ is that the engine is more accurately rounded to 1.5L and I expect every four cylinder 1L or smaller and three cylinder 750cc or smaller to also be ruled out for being ‘too small’.
Anyway, here is the stats of the car. I get a bit annoyed that competition entries often secret away their stats, and don’t release them after the competition is closed. (Price was $6600.)
Dude I’m laughing so hard! lmao
Somehow, I don’t think my engine will be too small to work on…
That said, I’m expecting the car to be outright panned in reviews due to other decisions…
I thought my 1.7 was a big three.
I believe that the engineers and stylists responsible for a car that doesn’t make the first cut shouldn’t be sent to a Gulag; instead, they should be executed as soon as possible!
##Oi blin, I drink nice amount of Vodka, and am now ready to return to sorting cars.
##Dynamite 3A @Madrias
Next we have car called Dynamite 3A. Car is clearly also going for German vibe. But not so sure it picked corrected germany, contemporary lines and fancy grille more make me think of Mercedes or Bavarian Motor Car. Am split on whether or not I like. I am also mixed on mechanics of car. They spend all this money on fancy western emissions system, which is very nice, but I am thinking Orbistanians would much rather have radio to listen to tunes, or broadcast from glorious leader! Car has all four wheels driven by engine. As well as brakes and steering being assisted. Is clearly very fancy. But car is not for western market. Dynamite has spent money in wrong places to make car appeal to Orbistan market. We will pass.
##AAU-M2083 @Rk38
Kurwa, I am shocked to see that request for automobile has resulted in response from Anikatian government. In troubling times for Soviet Union, is comforting to know countries band together in struggle against capitalism. Is many bonus points.
Car is wet dream of any socialist country. Despite being carbureted, can achieve 30MPG, can be assembled for as little as 5400$, can be reassembled for pennies. Can be reshaped to suit variety of purposes. Is exactly what should be looked for in people’s car. But are we looking for raw transportation, or can we be affording luxury off-roading crossovers? Is matter of opinion, but luckily, my opinion is only one that is mattering. We will be seeing when prototype comes in.
##Pakapi @doncornaldie
I am thinking Pakapi is unsure what it is wanting to be. It is small like little hatchback, but have big tires and all wheel drive like SUV. Speaking of which, we may not be trying to set any speed records in Orbistan, but 31.5 seconds to 100kph is just too slow. 2 gears within powerband is not enough. Car is also spending money in strange places, like emissions control, and this complicated AWD system is nice, but I am thinking car will not do so well in snow if it is constantly bogging down from lack of power.
##Nadezhda. @Mr.Computah
Is pickup truck… Ugh. I throw up in back of mouth, these are so popular in the home of capitalism, but I can overlook for minute. In short, we are needing vehicle to do all things. Not just deliveries. Needs to be family car, personal car, etc. Unless I am wanting children to be sliding around in bed of truck, is not going to work out very well.
##Orion @SpaceOrion
CYKA BLYAT! Car is HUGE! Car is even huge by western standards! And Oi… Why must car accentuate fatness with only 2 usable gears? Car is so huge, when it go to movie theatre, it sit next to everybody. Car come with all the baggage of being large, poor fuel economy, is slow, has no power steering or brake assists to help with these issues, is like Soviet character of western car. We no take.
##Fleet Industries Mite @abg7
Now we move onto car from “Fleet Industries” They call it “Mite.” Is clearly fitting name for little car. I laugh a little when I see car only weighs 770Kg. Car provide much less room than competition, perhaps difficult for full size families, but hey, when children get too big to fit in backseat, they old enough to join military, am I right? Small car offer many advantages, like less fuel consumed. However, Fleet Industries have made incredibly perplexing choice by giving car advanced emissions control when none was required. on small car, money would be much better spent elsewhere, but cannot be changed now. Entire Brochure boast about advanced engine. Fuel injected in multiple ports instead of just one. Emission reducing pistons. How nessacary is this? I am not sure. What I am sure of is how this affects car. Gets no better fuel economy than many giant SUVs that are offered. Is no cheaper, either. I am not so sure what other benefits there would be to purchasing a mini car. So this car is no good for us.
##NNCC Troupe @TR8R
Here we are having another mini car. Is very similar to Fleet Industries mite. Though for some reason it is more expensive by little bit, but is only 2+2 for seating. Is seeming like is slightly more than Fleet Industry Mite, with slightly better fuel economy, slightly more ammenaties, etc. but is it worth going small? I am thinking no. Car is made obsolete when being compared to any number of SUVs we have. They are bigger, offering comparable fuel economy, and comfort as well. I am really not seeing advantage to going small when maxing out budget anyways, is no go for us.
##OKB 1000 Ishak. @JohnWaldock
ah, we are finally having small car that make sense. It is small and cheap, coming in well under budget. Although, even as far as communist cars go, I am thinking this is too barebone comparing to other small cars. Perhaps I am spoiled by western way of Sport and utility vehicle, or perhaps I am spoiled by Anikatian government showing car for cheaper that come with more amenities. I can call this a compromise. Because that is how it is feeling. Compromised. I am not seeing anything it is doing that a cheaper car is not doing better. Is bin for this one!
##Adenine Abakan. @phale
Kurwa… This is quite the SUV… Is more like regular car that is SUV spy. Is all front wheel drive, large tires are making it marginally worse offroad when compared to 4x4 vehicles. It may not be proper military vehicle without all four wheels being driven, but compromises are to be made, am I right? Of course I am. I am always right. Is coming with better amenities because of front wheel drive, such as fuel injected via multiple points. But somehow, does not result in better fuel economy. Is slight boost in comfort worth worse fuel economy and front wheels only being driven? We will be seeing. But is good enough to order.
##H.A 355 @thecarlover
OH… Opa… If contest was based solely on colour, This one would be winning by years. Muted red remind me of dried blood from western spies. Car clearly struggle in numbers game when comparing to Znopresk and other SUVs, but there is many details to pick up on that I think am giving. I am getting hard on the size of Tzar bomba staring at this. I cannot help but order prototype.
###There are still more?! Blin… There is only so much vodka in cabinet, comrade… Alright… More will come when vodka has restocked.
hahahahahahahaa
Well, I had to downsize mine because I ran out of budget…
I had initially planned to make a 1965 Dynamite 10A fit the budget… But alas, despite my best efforts, I could not get the 4.1 liter I3 to fit in budget in 1985. Though I had fun trying.
haha. same story. although not quite 4L… i wanted a 2.7L… engine too pricey, 2.4L. still too pricey. ended up pushing the 2.1L a bit more than i wanted.
aww.
why is it my cars are always too middling? never amazing, never terrible, just…meh.
i tend to leave that to the host.
anyway, with the bonus of some more shots of the beautiful design work:
I don’t mind sharing once entry time closes. I just don’t want to get in a The Price is Right style “Bet one dollar more than the last guy” competition.
It’s not all stats though guys, as I found out from my first few cars, there’s a strong subjective side to it all. There’s no rule that any round master has to be objective in their decision. (So be nice to each other, lol)
##I am having piss, and now I am returning to see cars. These should be last ones to look over.
##SCPHINX TR. @koolkei
…I am wondering who was telling Scphinx that we are needing car for rally cross as opposed to car for people. Engine make 100 horsepower, car get from 0-60 in under 10 seconds. Some of car is composed of very expensive aluminium. Cyka Blyat, this is sportiest car we have been sent. But we are not looking for fun time! Fun results in rebellion! To gulag for trying to incite a rebellion!
##Sheddok @ramthecowy
Yes… Car… I see… It use V8… The symbol of capitalism. Is good. Yes. Good. I have special track to test car on. I am very much looking forward to working prototype.
##Smooth Brate @AirJordan
… After those two, even this Smooth Brate is seeming competent. Although this is clearly no SUV like others, despite appearing it. Reminds me more of that new western trend… Minivans, I believe they are calling them? Yes. Many little baby cars appear able to beat this one offroad. With no 4x4, no locking diff, and no offroad tires. Car is made from regular cheap steel as well, making it likely to rust away from harsh winter very quickly. Overall, car does not suit needs of Orbistani very well, despite fitting price. Is bin for this one!
##DMV Natrium. @SkylineFTW97
Interior picture of this car make me laugh. Company clearly wanted radio, and it is there. But it looks like child has drawn interior with crayon. This is another car were odd choices have been made. Instead of solving the interior that was slapped together in moments, they spend money on expensive gas mono-tube suspension, advanced emissions control device, and performance I can only ask why. That will cost somebody’s apartment when it goes wrong! We are not looking to bankrupt owners with expensive parts! Is straight to bin with this one!
##Mckeown T-10. @BrafMeToo
If one is looking to sell car on adverts alone, one is needing look no further. Mckeown obviously have good marketing team. They should stick with them. Unfortunately, car is not giving me revalutionary vibe like H.A did. Is reminding more of western muscle car. One from Mr Walter P. Chrysler’s company in specific. But I am digressing. Car use disk brakes front and rear? Brakes are looking to strong for little baby car like this! I am thinking one touch of brake pedal and rear end lock up and have seizure like it is being shot by firing squad. Perhaps money could be being better spent on power assisted steering. Or computer that prevent these ridiculously overpowered brakes from seizing up tires. Car look able to wade through snow well due to tires, but if I am wanting offroad, I am again forcing myself to look at one of those Luxurious SUVs which feature many more ammenaties, some even returning better fuel consumption. Is bin for this one. But perhaps we will be looking at marketing team to produce propa-… I am meaning news.
##PEMA Medellin. @Nomade0013
Erm… Car is… Perplexing to say least. Car use 1998cc 4 cyllinder motor, but
Run 4 barrel carburetor? Why? Is what those American v8s use. Then again, this make similar power to American v8. But with large 185mm tires, I am getting another vibe that car was trying to go for sporting vibe. And you are knowing how sporting vibe get cars ending up… Gulag it is!
##Aybsma 1600L @Mythrin
What is this?.. Another car reminding me of western Germany… Cyka. Does Orbistan resemble west Germany? I am digressing. Car is unremarkable. Is not bad, but is not sticking out to me either. Car is big, but have little trunk for little babies. Car use emissions control device, and emission reducing piston. It come with power steering, and radio, so redeeming features are clear. However, car, for inexplicable reason, only have 4 seats despite being four door. Why can nobody sit in middle? Make sense for coupe, not so much for 4 four car. Car is not screaming “Revolution” to me on advert, but perhaps it may be screaming it to me in person.
##I am thinking that is it, comrades…
####Yes, Glorious leader is insisting I am spending too much time with this, He insist I narrow it down to 5 finalists in quick time. I can be sent to gulag for fun you know! Expect top 5 results and winner soon enough!
