The Quezon SR-2 is a limited edition 2-seat roadster sold by Quezon Motors from 2002 to 2005.
Coming out of its second bankruptcy following the Asian Financial Crisis, Quezon restructured itself and decided on a change of look for the brand. One which would mark a return of respect to its heritage.
In 2000, plans were being made of a roadster that would succeed Quezon’s historic lineup. One that would bear a moniker akin to that of its ancestor, the SR, and sharing the same philosophy as it, and the first ever Quezon, the SuperCab.
2002 would be the debut of this vehicle, and it was nothing like the world had ever seen.
Co-developed with Yamada Motorcycle, the engine was a specially-developed 1096cc superbike motor tuned to meet the standards of a car, mated to a six-speed manual transmission and mounted transversely in the vehicle’s frame. This would be one of the highest revving engines ever fitted to a production automobile, with a redline nearing 11,000 RPM, and a peak horsepower output of over 150 PS.
The chassis was something special too, being a partially aluminum bonded monocoque, it shared a front subframe assembly with the Cordova coupe, and rear suspension linkages with the Laguna sedan. But most of the other components were custom made specifically for the car.
Atop the partially aluminum frame, was a specially moulded, incredibly lightweight fibreglass shell with smooth styling that harkened back to the days of the SuperCab, with rounded elements and a bean-like shape.
Despite its chubby hamster-like looks, its demeanour was nothing soft. The SR-2 was a pure driver’s car, only being equipped with anti-lock brakes, and not much else. The suspension was firm, and communicated every bump excellently to the driver’s palms, and the vehicle could hold itself planted around a corner. The engine revved and made a glorious sound that was authentic and free from interruption, and also responded with glee from any input requested.
Production of the SR-2 would conclude in 2005 once the contract with Yamada had expired, and they could no longer have the engine manufactured.
The SR-2 was an expensive vehicle, sure, and for its price perhaps quicker vehicles could be acquired.
But it was never about the any other significantly popular comparison there was, for Quezon was simply wanting to prove itself that it still understood the fundamentals of what would give a driver the most joy.
Would it be a problem if the image was 3840x2360 piexels?
Yes; all publicly available mods on the Steam Workshop are permitted.
That’s fine; as long as I can crop it to 4K that’s just fine.

Intro
While always using parts of more pedestrian Kaizen sedans, the Seikan series of high-performance coupes and convertibles represents the “fearless determination” of Kaizen Corporation’s aspirations of competing with the world’s best. Born at the very beginnings of the company from a heavy desire of motorsports, it has been a most important member of the lineup, serving as the aspirational halo car with many race championships under its belt.
With that said, over the years the Seikan has also evolved to incorporate significant comfort elements from the GT segment, in a bid to appeal to a greater swath of customers. First introduced in 1996, this generation is no exception.
Following precedence, major parts were sourced from the Class 6 executive sedan, including the high-strength steel monocoque chassis, the range of 5-speed ZF automatics and 6-speed manuals sending power to the rear wheels, the 4-wheel independent suspension with front double wishbones and rear multilink, and dual frontal airbags.
Notably, parts shared with the VSC high-performance sedan included the all-aluminum naturally aspirated 5.0L DOHC 32 valve V8 featuring variable valve timing and variable valve lift making 410 hp, and standard fitment of the Torsen limited-slip differential from the VSC.
Mechanical modifications specific to the Seikan included optimized gear ratios, final drive, and aerodynamics, manumatic functionality for the automatic, all-aluminum body construction, and a performance-oriented interior.
In 1997, the first Technical Update (TU1) debuted, which made electronic stability control standard across the whole range.
