The Farm Truck Challenge (Stage 2 - Results!)

Same here but I still feel mine is slow.

I think mine’s kinda quick around the Automation Test Track, but I’m thinking it’ll be the slowest of all of 'em down the drag strip. It’s just so heavy.

Well, mine is definitey bringing the running average time up

i only remember that mine is just several second faster than my BRC66 car.

Let’s call it astonishingly fast for a truck.

Let me know when you’ve finished checking/reviewing all the trucks as I have an update for the pickup body that would change some things (namely morphs and drag coeffcient) and could skew the results, so I figure I’ll wait until this competition is finished before I post the update. On the bright side, the double cabs can get bigger and versions with bed covers now exist.

Well… finishing the reviews in the same manner of Stage 1 might take… a while. The release of your updates could preclude doing another round of video reviews. I’ll figure it out. I should have the stats I need to actually score the challenge relatively soon.

In other news, I didn’t lose power and my truck got me everywhere I wanted to go. It’s a tank. But, I work with my University’s Department of Public Safety and let’s just say that double time was on the table and that I worked quite a bit in pursuit of that overtime. (Like 9 hours one day, 15.5 the next, 9 today). I pushed quite a few cars out of the snow and just helped with the random stuff that comes up in the realm of public safety during a blizzard (i.e. digging out police cars that we’re not equipped with 4WD from their parking spots [read: snow covered tombs] once the snow stopped falling).

That being said, I didn’t do much challenge-wise this weekend.

Edit: As of this edit, all submitted trucks have been inspected. There were still quite a few DQs. Check your inbox and OP for details. There will be no deadline extensions, so check quickly.

In that case, let me know about the stats. With the changes I’m doing with the morphs, the bed on all trucks and the back of the double cabs might get skewed while all trucks will be a bit faster with a reduced drag coefficient value. I’m more worried about what the modified morphs will do to the entries.

The challenge is closing in a few minutes, so you should be fine very shortly. If you can wait 30 minutes - an hour, you shouldn’t have any effect on the scores.

Edit: We are closed and I don’t see anything in my inbox that would count as pending. Go ahead with your updates.

That moment when you realize that your “Sport Truck” is going to be worse that your “Big Truck”

Two things:

  1. I have yet to apply bonus points, and the competition is extremely tight in some places. There could be some interesting shuffling going on.
  2. I finally get to post the final average of the ATT Times. Sorry for the long post, but I’m going Clarkson on this one.

Your trucks made an average run around the ATT in 2 Minutes

Twenty-

Two point 5 seconds.

(That’s 2:22.46 or 142.4575s for spreadsheet calculations.)

Awww yeah suck my extra rich exhaust!

(I just really didn’t want to post a below average time)

I get to join Strop in the Above Average club! Seems like I made a few design decisions in my favor for that one. My drag strip time’s gonna be a drag, though.

I’m not sure if I was aggressive enough. Though I lost low end torque, I gained Gas Milage… lol

Anyone else’s sports truck get 12MPG? Should have used more fuel…

WOOOOT 2:16 second FTW!

Mine gets 11.5 or something.

And also a 2:16 on ATT. I think? 1:21 on airfield. 8:35 on Green Hell.

I’d mention my times, but… I wanna see where the truck ends up with its heavy-ass Cast Iron V12. I’m actually nervous about this one.

I didn’t really go ham on this one, I used the same 5.7L NA block and did naturally aspirated tuning. Gained me almost 100hp but that still only gets me up to 340hp. At least I can say I built something that might actually be realistic to pull off

You guys have no idea how angry I am at the game and at myself. My entry was DQed due to being over budget, on my screen I was under but the game failed to save THREE very important slider changes and BAM! 10k over budget, to top it off this was the first time I didn’t send a verification screenshot because the game has played nice so far. I was able to use Teamviewer on my phone to access my PC and make a revision BUT it was an hour or so past the deadline (was sleeping, I am 6 hours ahead of KLin), I really hope he accepts it :frowning: I tried so hard to get home before the cutoff only to be screwed over by the damned save bug. Ah well, back to work.

EDIT: In NO way am I angry at Klin for the DQ so dont take this post that way, he is running an awesome challenge and deserves a ton of credit for doing this.

I have made a new poll. I hate turning y’all away, but I feel like I was fair with a clear rule list and one extension already. Of course there are plenty of good reasons to allow for the revisions to have an extension. However, integrity under the rules won’t let me make that decision just because. Therefore, the poll is to save my conscience. If there is at least a supermajority in favor of accepting the late revisions, I will take them. Late revisions need to be in my inbox by 1/26/15 at Midnight EST for one final chance. I will check the poll results and announce my decision tomorrow. Arguments for and against by non-rejected entrants may be heard here.
