Not really weird, considering that Chinese manufacturers alone probably have made a few hundred different models by now 
Similar for Toyota alone, they can have over 60 models simultaneously in offer. All in all, there can be thousands of various car models I’d say, and knowing most of them would be pretty much impossible.
