The Most Well Known Aftermarket Rim Type

So, title says it all really. I’m just curious as to what people think is the most well known rim style or type across the world, whatever you want to call it.

Personally, I’d argue that the most well known rim would be the BBS RK.

They’re simple, decent looking and are in just about every single racing game ever. Not to mention, ricers love 'em!

The typical iconic piece-of-shit steel rim you find under every plastic hubcap and on every junk car on the road. They’re not known for their looks, nor being a high-performance product, but they are durable.

I mean… you’re not wrong. But I kinda meant aftermarket :stuck_out_tongue:

I understand. I just figured, as it was originally “Well known rim type” and not explicitly saying “aftermarket,” it had to be done. Still, you can get steel rims aftermarket, although they’re not typically flashy.

But I understand you also probably wanted nice looking rims. I’ll leave the above there, just because you can technically buy steel rims in the aftermarket. As for the types of rims I see around my general area, I see a lot of 5-spoke wheels.

Mini-lite / Superlite are quite well known.

Oh, you know, these wheels have only been put on EVERY SINGLE CAR EVER.

Work has gotten me familiar with these.

Interesting fact, the Taurus Interceptor and the Explorer Interceptor both use the same wheels. They are interchangeable.

They’re the same platform underneath by design. I’m not surprised.

The Torq Thrust series of rims from American Racing are very popular in the US for classic muscle, along with Cragar SS rims.

What about the race-proven, world-famous BBS RS/Super RS “Turbofan”? It combines style and performance in a cool lightweight package.

Remember looking at your friend’s Porsche 911 “Carrera” equipped with those iconic Fuchs forged wheels? Those were the favorites of both Porschephiles and -classic- Beetle lovers thanks to its timeless styling. (Shown here are the latest iterations of those iconic rims, now available in the larger 17- to 19-inch sizes)

If I ever get my hands on any 1977 Pontiac Firebird (yup…that’s my favorite year for that car) I’d have it finished in Jet Black Metallic with “24-karat” pinstripes around the windshield, door windows, wheelhouses, the infamous “Phoenix”/“Firehawk” logo painted on the hood and those “Snowflake” rims…(Yup…I’m a huge SaTB fan too)

It’s cool to daydream sometimes…

Id say these, since they are extremly simple and classic.

BBS RS and Enkei TE-37, whatever they fake or orginal but mostly they can be spotted on Honda Jazz, Suzuki Swift, or Toyota Yaris even a Honda CR-V which make it weird

also big Giovanna-like rims also pretty popular among modern Mitsubishi Pajero or Toyota Fortuner owner, usually they’re jerks with their Xenon HID headlight because they never re-adjust their headlight reflection plus higher car height because their non-stock wheels not helping at all.
