Still squeezing the performance out of this and the time is already pretty juicy. Ad coming soon.

I know this first race car of yours is built on the '95 American Dream mod body (most likely the lighter, nimbler 2.45m wheelbase version, although it could also be the longer 2.7m version for stability - it’s hard to tell which one you used from that overhead shot), but you made it look modern enough for the trim year - and its livery reminds me of the fictional Ravenwest team from GRID. The Coke-bottle morphing is easily visible from above, though - and helps accommodate wider tires at both ends.

And what about the road car that spawned this beast? I’d like to find out more about it as soon as I get the chance!

Are restomods allowed for the historic category? I would still keep the drivetrain the same, I just want to know about the design. Or would they go in the exhibition category?

Restomods should go in the exhibition class.

just to be sure that I didn’t messed up, the limited wheel diameter for historic car is suppposed to be the whole tyre diameter not just the rim, correct @Danicoptero ?

Tyre diameter is for the rim.

A car ment to test the newest racing engine for the GT500 series.
The engine was pushed to 650hp and tested in excess altitudes to ensure the ECM and internals endurance the redline was upped to 8500 from 7500 of the planned racing engine.
The ID4 was an experoment in styling and areo design for our design team who were allowed free range over creation.
Its not a record setter but had a great showing none the less at 7:45.185 on our first official run.

The Historic class rules seem to allow a later engine in an earlier car, with emissions dependent on the car’s year, not the engine’s. Is this correct?

That’s correct. I put emissions on the engine rules because that’s where you can check them.

To be clear, this means we can submit a 1969 historic car with a 1979 engine that does not have a WES requirements?

If I understand correctly, Historical cars can use Race Parts?

Yes. To be honest the intention was to have the engines be the same year as the car or older but I never even thought of making that a rule. Too late to change it now.

Yes.

:grimacing:

Other than random circumstantial necessity, why would anyone put an older engine into a newer car?

Restomod? Or updating an older car with newer tech?

I feel like there are stories of whole new engine architecture being first presented in already existing models during major facelifts

Ignore me, misread the question.

I’d like to reserve the number 40 for my second car and register it in the exhibition category.

Ah. In that case, I’ll stick with the 1955 engine for this after all, and just focus on getting the visuals dressed up better. Maybe make a “Road version” as well if there’s time
