The Race to the Clouds - [DONE]

holy hell

No, just aero. Once the active aero kicks in it pulls around 3.6-4Gs in the corners. 750kg in the rear, 380kg front.

This is the same as my car, 3.98gs but its nearly 4 minutes slower. Everything points to the suspension bug or the no brakes bug. I suppose there’s little point arguing over it but maybe you could double check your entry so you don’t get instabinned :stuck_out_tongue:

doesn’t really justify the time, whille testing I made one that did over 5G in the fast corners… more than 3 minutes slower than that

Not sure what I’m looking for, as everything looks relatively normal, but the time surprised me as well tbh. My unlimited entry is quick as well, but nowhere near this. I’ll investigate a bit more.

If you watch the test track run, if it doesn’t brake at all that means that something is messing up somewhere. It’s not that you have “0” driveability" because that doesn’t come into the equation of driving the car. Pretty sure it’s suspension or gearing related, possibly brakes too. Usually it happens with really heavy cars. Then again this issue has been “patched” about 3 times.

Yup, it looks like it just stays in 6th gear all the way. Oh well, that is quite funny. I will fix it.

Make a note of what you change and what potentially caused it and submit a report or something on the discord :stuck_out_tongue:

Seeing as laptime cheese is always part of racecar challenges this comes up quite a lot.

IIRC one of the cause is the tires blowing up or something and affecting the simulation.

I believe it happened after I added two extra wings on the roof of the car.

I now have the funny mental image of a car flying around a Pikes Peak hairpin at top speed and turning as if on rails, giving the driver 30g of lateral acceleration.

We ran our broken Tracktoys car at pikes peak and this is what happened

But you will most certainly get binned for doing this so I wouldn’t recommend it lol

ACZ’s BIG Reveal!

Showing up to the Exhibition Class are two exquisite tuned ACZs, the HUB and the Grand Deluxe! Both sport the legendary “8008” V16, but now tuned to churn out over double the power of the production version. These “mountain destroyers” will barrel up Pikes Peak and leave nothing but dust behind!

ACZ HUB Mountain Destroyer

The ordinary HUB was chosen to be an ambassador to Pikes Peak due to its ‘large’ engine bay. Thanks to its mid-engined layout, this van sports a perfect 50/50 weight distribution for optimal handling. That combined with its full carbon fiber construction, it’s lighter than most would think.

ACZ Grand Deluxe DW16 Mountain Destroyer

The DW16 returns from the ashes, and will make its debut at Pikes Peak! This Grand Deluxe has a technical AWD system and clever diffs to manage the ferocity of its powerplant. Like the HUB, this Grand Deluxe is full carbon fiber to keep its weight low.

The new Grand Deluxe DW16 will reach showrooms later this year.

Im working on a TA2 so it will atleast not be empty

Originally a silly passion project that involved swapping an RSI drivetrain into a Workmate van by a bored owner of a tuner shop, this car was transformed into a full competition-spec hillclimb machine with nearly 1000 horsepower.

the Ikeda Lunette hillclimb (very original spec name), currently still a WIP as I am trying to balance between being inside the budget bracket, maintaining the needed 5 comfort rating and keeping the engine from exploding

Norrsken HPPD EX3 - Exhibition

Currently not home, low quality ad it is :()

Historic Entry

Winston Arrow GT

Pure welsh built.

The car was originally built for a challenge done 3 years ago, it went to some design updates and followed some ideas on the race cars of that era, such as taped lights.

Unlimited class Entry

Matsuba Stallion Group S 1996

What if group S existed? This is the answer

I always wondered if Group S would ever go receive the green light. So this is a light take on what could’ve be.

The car alonside it is a kit car rally car.

1958 Wolfe Rocket 1600 Pike Peaks Special

Competing in the Historic bracket, this pocket rocket who showed incredible potential in the 1954 Mille Monti in the 850 class is attempting to tame the Peaks! Reissued in 1958, and swapped with a 1979 1600cc boxer 4 instead of the original 850 one, the Wolfe Rocket develops 211 hp @ 10,500 rpm with a DOHC 4bbl boxer with a fiberglass enclosure, 4 speed stick and comes under 470kg.

Will this tiny FWD race car from Canada be able to compete with larger and much more powerful cars? Maybe not, but seeing this 2-seater scream though the mountain is excitement enough!
