I’ve tried to make that happen but it’s unfortunately just not possible. The closest to a production car is the VW XL-1 or a newer (and much bigger) version of the first generation Honda Insight. Prius style cars will have to wait.
I have no problems waiting. This semi-concept looks cool.
I’ve been thinking about future variants for it as well. Something compact-sized should be good, but I’m also thinking of modifying it into a supercar with similar styling to the I.A.D. Alien.
What engine positions are available for this? Front and rear?
If you were to do a Prius car, what mark would it be based on, you have 4 to choose from, or you could do 3 and them make the newer one morphable into a prius 4
@rcracer11m No room for a rear engine It’s got front and mid options. With the wheels so far to the corners of the car, there’s a realistic amount of space for an engine between the rear axle and rear seats. Just not a huge engine.
@CamKerman If I were to make a Prius, I’d likely go for the iconic Prius 2. The Prius 4 is too “unique” to have anything else morphable into that shape, plus we have plenty of cars for the 2010s. The dead zones are the 50s, early 60s, 70s, and early 00s.
Mini…Escort Mk1…Capri Mk1…
I would be very interested in any project to develop a Capri or Escort body for Automation
Some one started doing a classic mini, can’t remember who though.
if you do make the prius 2 then I can provide you with any resources you need, my parents have this car so I can just go in to the driveway and take a photo.
Were they a member of the Self Preservation Society?
I think the classic mini was either vmo or kubby’s model
no it was kubby
It was Weasel. Haven’t seen him around for a while.
my bad
This body is turning out pretty well. I set the Cd at 0.13 (the VW XL-1 has one around 0.18, so I’m mostly basing it on that figure), and now who wants a 5 seat mid engine family car with a 3.0L turbocharged V8 that goes to 439 km/h and still gets over 22 mpg?
This is going to be the most OP body
That’s where the small engine bay comes in. 3.1L V8 is about the biggest mid transverse engine it fits. Longitudinal is probably a bit more but not by much. It’s easy to get ridiculous fuel economy as well, like the XL-1.
Also, the version without the wheel covers has a Cd of 0.145, so a bit less OP
When do you reckon you can release it? No hurries, just a question
I’ve sent out the files to maffc, who volunteered to do the exporting since I can’t use the older version 3DS Max that’s needed. Whenever I get it back, I’ll just have to make the thumbnails and maybe tweak a few things before release. I’ll make the five door variants after the initial release.
