Car Overview

Welcome to the second season of the Themed Car Challenge! In this Season you have to participate from the beginning on - competing with the same Car Model and Engine Family from Round 1 till the end. If you want to enter in Round 2 to 4? Well… I have built two cars for you in that case, you can change the appearance of those, but have to keep the base engine and base car model. This little twist will show which platform yields the best compromise overall or will show the most flexible car builders of the forums.

In the second round you will have to build a…

1996 Affordable family car

The year is 1996, the earth travels around the sun in an elliptical orbit, Nintendo launched its N64 in Japan and the guys over at GSI Darmstadt discovered the Ununbium (today its called Copernicum)
Whats going on in the car industry? After a boom of the executive midsized sedans like Audi A4s, C-Classes and Lexues its time to turn those into affordable family cars.
VW Passats, Opel Vectras and Ford Mondeo are swarming the market and people who could not afford a C-Class or A4 buy those! And if its a station wagon, they dont think twice and consider buying a whole bunch of those cheap wagons.

How to play?

Simple! Read the Guidelines at the bottom, go to this Google Docs Spreadsheet - build your car, fill in your data and send it to me. If any stat has a minimum Value or limits in the top bar, please follow them!

If you have not participated in Round 1 - but really really want to in Round 2 - there is a solution. In this Spreadsheet you can see the “RAM Exec” and “RAM Exec 2”. If you drop me a PM i can send you ONE of those to you - you are allowed to change the morphing and aesthetics (like fixtures) in the trim section.

Rules
Car Platform and Engine family has to be THE SAME as in Round 1 - this is basically a new car trim and (if needed) a new engine variant for you. Cosmetic changes in the trim are allowed!

I recommend to post a small advertisement of the car here to appeal it to the future customers in the voting but you don’t have to do it**
**The top 2 winners will be reviewed by the Automationeer magazine! **

Have fun on this challenge!

Small note: Don’t delete your cars - they may be needed for future stuff. Like Round 2 to 4. Atleast the Car Model and Engine Family as a basis for the other possible trims.

Introduction

The goal in the Themed Car Challenges is to build an Car that is reasonable for the specific theme it is entered into.
This challenge is not about making as much power as possible or other crazy-ass Cars. The winner will be chosen by the
judges, and that is you! You decide which Car you would choose, if YOU were the CUSTOMER. Be realistic about your choices!

Submission Guidelines

[ul]]The latest public release version is used for the challenges./:m]
]One submission per user per theme. The PMed Car is your final and only theme entry./:m]
]If a patch is released during a challenge, the entry has to be (re-)submitted in the latest patch version./:m]
]After filling the spreadsheet with your Car’s data, submit your entry via PM to Pyrlix, the TEC game-master. /:m]
]You must submit the Car by the last day of building time, otherwise it counts as not submitted and is disqualified./:m]
]Scoring (Season 1): 1st place 5 points, 2nd place 4 points, 3rd place 3, 4th place 2 point/:m]
]If your Car stats in the sheet don’t correspond to the ones in the submitted Car file, this counts as cheating./:m]
]Don’t allocate 2 slots at one time. Only 1 slot at once. Finish your work before you start the next one! /:m][/ul]

Voting Guidelines

Remember that you are the customer, and you want to get the best out of a car for your money.
Vote accordingly! Some examples for what kind of questions you should be asking yourselves:

a) Is all that power actually accessible, usable and not far too dangerous?
b) Will the Comfort break your back?
c) Does it eat your wallet?

You are not allowed to vote for your own Car!

Season Format

The runtime for every challenge is one week and every season will have 4 events, i.e. a season is 4 weeks long.
There may be minor breaks in between due to holidays or unavailability of the game-master.
The competition weeks are structured the following way:

Car Submissions: From the day the challenge opened till Monday
Car Voting: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Challenge Wrap-Up and Announcement: Friday

Can I change the name of the previous car? Since my submission was at the bottom end of a luxury brand, I’d want to change it to the regular market brand name (but without changing the model and engine family).

You want a big car?
You want lots of space?
You want to save on fuel?
You want low tax?
You want to avoid car workshops?
You want reliability?
You want a rustfree car even after years?

Look no further, the Mars Engineering Relicuum Family will bring joy to your whole family.

To find your rpm@2000
Open the engine variant lua.

Look for RPM=2000.
You want a block that looks like this.

{
 2000,
 132.8806993081831,
 27.831332978989021,
 335.04769036175611,
 1.8573263142776955,
 RPM=2000
 }

Congratulations the torque is just below #2000 at top.

One little thing that can mean a lot…

The car platform is defined by
Chassis Type, Material, Engine Placement, Suspension and Panel Material
those have to be the SAME as Round 1.

Same for engine family…

Why must you choose between the open road and an open cabin? Why does safety have to compromise fun? Where is distinction in the sea of automotive blandness?

Meet Shouri, Suzume’s answer to your questions.

Engineered to meet the most demanding conditions that life can throw at it. Shouri packs a potent punch on the road, able to carve up country roads and conquer city streets alike. Yet its V8 engine and a 5-speed automatic transmission* still gives the smooth, confident ride expected of more expected sedans. Shouri doesn’t skimp on the interior details, either. A full deluxe cloth interior, ergonomically inspired center console, and thoughtful storage pockets are just some of what you will find inside. All wrapped with a safety package that received among the highest marks in its class.

Standard equipment on all Shouri models includes air conditioning, digitally-tuned AM/FM/Cassette stereo, power windows and locks, power steering, 2.4 liter V8 engine**, and the SuzumeSafe™ Standard safety features suite. Here I show you the Bonham Chaucer Estate, in 2.2 Eco trim. The standard engine was de-stroked and de-bored to 2.2 litres, in order to get a higher efficiency and to reduce the need for expensive parts on the engine, thus helping the car to be cheaper. Equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox, this is the car made for the rational driver, who cares for lower costs at the pumps, on the showroom, and when it comes to pay the yearly taxes. However, it’s not all boring, accelerating to 100 kph in under 10 seconds, over 210 kph top speed and a near 50-50 weight distribution, this economical car is not slow, nor boring to drive. Get one now, for just $17,250, and you’ll get 50 ml bottles of vodka and gin (instead of the full 1l for the mid-range car).

The MicroDesigns “Define” Eco (by RAM).
Power & Practicality alongside affordability.

Buy better, buy Bogliq!!!

For 1996, FRE added a few new options to the Guadeloupe line. There is now a cheaper 2.4-litre engine, 5 speed automatic transmission, a wagon body style, and the cheaper entry level trim “L”, which took away some of the luxurious feature but also have a much lower price. The 2.4-litre engine is rated at 140hp (The original 2.9 is rated at 170hp). Another note is adaptive suspension became optional on both L and GL trim in 1996.

Didn’t enter first round because I didn’t know about it. Please send me the files.

This no frills car is easy on your wallet without compromising the safety of your family.

Under $14,000 and over 39mpg…what are waiting for?

It really is YOUR family friend!

And thats how you dont do it. Your Familie Amie is NOT based on the same platform as your Cruzer Mk 3.
Your car has to base on the Car AND engine Platform of Round 1…

@DeusExMackia: Great ad :stuck_out_tongue: Being honest is important nowadays.

Any chance I can get the RAM Executive 2 for this round? There’s no way I can make my round 1 submission into a decent budget car.
