I don’t think anyone is going to fit fiberglass or aluminum panels in the budget, at least without slashing costs everywhere else. I also see no reason to ban dual exhausts, I believe both were common.
I’m not going to impose strict wheelbase restrictions. If it looks like a normal mid or full sized American vehicle, that’s good enough for me.
Four speed automatics will not be penalized.
Both cross-plies and radials are allowed. Steel wheels would absolutely be the most realistic choice, I will revise the rules to exclude aluminum and magnesium wheels.
I, for one, have no issues with the quality slider rule. Then again, I rarely ever use them. I’ve always found it easier to compromise on something else than to try figuring out which slider will knock $100 or $200 off of my end price without destroying the stats.
I’m going to start a test build and see where I get with it, but I’m fairly sure I know my engine already.
One last question; is there a preference of color? I have a period-correct 70’s palette at the ready, but I realize that may not translate to current tastes lol.
1970’s earth tones are exactly what I’m looking for. Dark brown, avocado green, tan, beige, burnt orange, maroon, etc. Anything like bright red or fly yellow would be missing the plot, entirely.
Any update on this one? I’ve been tooling around in 4.2 for a little while and haven’t come across too many bugs. Working on a pretty decent car (in my eyes).
I’m still experiencing some pretty annoying bugs, and the occasional crash. I suppose I can open entries for submission and see how it goes, but if judging becomes a total migraine I’m going to push back the close date until after the next patch.
The interior weight problem is one of the biggest right now, but the cost and reliability are ok I think so at least the cars would be on a level playing field.
