Judging Round 2
The crew first gathered another collection of cars to test at a more open location to get a better feeling of the cars. After sorting through what they didn't want, this was closer to the idea.

Great driveability holds this one up, with good minor stats. It’s also relatively cheap, comfort is the main culprit here but that’s to be expected of one of the least prestigious entries here. A cheerful design let down by the rear. Also the only inline 3 in the entire lot of submissions.

For something that looks like it haunts you in your nightmares, given a chance it actually does quite well. Average stats across the board and the cheapest entry of all at $8070. Had the design been literally any better it would have been a few places higher.

If having the longest trim name gave points you’d win with “TAT - 1200 tuhat järve (thousand lakes)” however it doesn’t so unlucky. Average Driveability but poor sportiness with the second best comfort, cheap to service and cheap to buy with good looks, (despite being so “old fashioned”) it’s also economical. Had some comfort been sacrificed for sportiness then this would have done much better.

It wouldn’t be an ABG entry without them placing near perfectly on the median, below average driveability but good sportiness and the best comfort of all help this entry, one of three entries to use every bit of the budget. Very mini grand tourer but not super mini.

A great looking entry, low driveability but good sportiness, could have placed higher with some slightly better minor stats such as reliability.

Another entry that placed highly thanks to good stats, The design feels awkward especially with the wheels as big as they are, good sportiness and driveability is the key here, despite being very close to the max budget the service costs are on par with the other entries.

Fun design, good driveability, high sportiness, comfort would be the lowest if it wasn’t for the singular bin earlier at 4.1, prestige is also the lowest out of all entries, because of this though the service costs are the cheapest and this gives a big boost to placement.

Your design improves very slow, but at least it does. This already looks like a car, mostly a Trabant 601.

My main inspiration was the Fiat 126. I wanted to make the front stand out more with indents but I didn’t see any body molding options that fit what I wanted to :frowning:

The crew had set up some cameras along the tight and twisty roads of venice.
“Those cars we have left, we’ll send them through here” said one of the production members.
A voice piped up from the back
“This is madness, how is the driver meant to make it round?”
“That’s up to them and the car, for us though? It’s a very difficult job and the only way to get through it is we all work together as a team. And that means you do everything I say.”

The first car hurtles down the street, bashing the walls on both sides and locking up into the turn the Paige Sparrow TC1600 now in full view of the camera crew
“Stand back everyone!”
The driver plants the throttle and the car leaps sideways, scraping the outer wall as it went. There was shouts from the back as crew scrambled to back away even further.
“Useless” muttered the director “We can’t keep that up, we’d need 10 cars for all the shots”


Below average drivability and poor comfort. Sportiness kept it up as well as reliability.

“Next car, we haven’t got all day!”
The rumble of a large boxer 4 could be heard echoing off the walls, it sounded like a meteor, a Hemsley Meteor HRX.
The car came flying into the corner in a similar fashion to the Sparrow, everyone stood back in preparation and the Hemsley put the power down coming around the turn, only this time the crew didn’t have to jump out the way as it powered through. Faint scraping could be heard as the car continued on the course.


Below average drivability, would’ve had the highest sportiness if it wasn’t for the winning car. good comfort and the highest prestige of any entry, unreliable however and expensive to service.

“Go go go!” shouted the starter
The Primus Publica STX dodged and weaved it’s way down the street, approaching the turn at a slightly lower speed than the other two cars the driver expertly manoeuvred the car around the corner, planting the throttle early gave lots of tyre squeal but the car stayed on track. There was excitement from the crew as it ripped away down the street.
“Better! More like it, such class. That car could belong to an ambassador”


High driveability and average sportiness and comfort, high prestige and safety. Had some comfort been sacrificed for sportiness maybe this would’ve done a little better.

“Action!”
A screaming boxer 4 echoes through the streets, getting louder as the Swanson 112 GSC approaches the corner. The driver swiftly rev matches down the box and pitches it into the turn, with millimetres to spare either side the Swanson rushes through with what can only be described as grace. Sailing out of the turn at a rapid rate of knots, the engine note rising to a crescendo the director whistled
“Fantastic, brilliant why can’t they all look that good? The speed!”


Honestly, my favourite looking car, the interior too is just perfect. Good stats in all the right places, and clear above the rest. If… it wasn’t for this next one.

The sun was setting but there was one car left to run around the course.
“What is this? It looks like it’s straight from wacky racers!” exclaimed the director.
“Don’t judge the car so harshly, you haven’t even seen how it handles yet!” joked the driver.
The car in question was the Elmsley Sundance 1300 Super, a tiny cartoonish convertible with surprising agility and speed thanks to it’s size and weight.
The driver ripped away from the line and threw the car into the first corner, the crew all jumped back thinking they were doomed to be involved in a hit and run, miraculously the Sundance emerges out the other side, nothing but a blur on the camera.
“That’s it! That’s the shot!” the director shouted. “Hang on lads, I’ve got a great idea.”


I’ll be straight up and say I really should’ve put a realism rule in, or atleast banned DWB front AND rear, most cars did well without it apart from this one which just ticked all the boxes and then some, sportiness 11.2 points higher than anyone else, and driveability 1.5 ahead it really didn’t matter what the rest of the stats were (which were decent apart from safety). That’s on me for letting that happen.

Thanks for an inspiring challenge - it was a good setting and a fun build.
Started out with a little RR hot hatch, but the FF test won out in stats. I couldn’t pass up DW, even though STA at the rear would have been good for the budget.

Unfortunately I’m absolutely buried in real life developments for the rest of the month, so I’ll have to pass on hosting to @Ludvig

It seems fair that one entering serial challenges should be prepared to take on hosting now and then so I’ll seek to put together a starter kit, to be less reliant on having time in that exact moment if an opportunity presents itself in the future. It’s going in the to-do list for now.

I figured RWD and solid rear axle would limit my stats but I wanted to make my Kadett/Escort/Viva/124 equivalent and that’s just the way those kind of cars were built, even if Automation thinks they’re terrible. Going full Escort with Mac struts in the front and leaf springs in the rear would have screwed me even worse!

I’m… pleasantly surprised at how high I have placed. Not quite podium but considering that I usually expecting to be around the middle of all entries…

Also, I don’t quite know yet about how @Ludvig and @Happyhungryhippo feel about it but if either of them don’t feel up to hosting TMCC next I am happy to give it a try.

I do agree about being prepared to actually host once in a while but…blah blah IRL stuff yeah. (Thanks @xsneakyxsimx for volunteering as tribute, made flaking out again considerably less conflicted)

Well, if it is not forbidden it´s allowed, and it´s the right conclusion you have, it does not ruin an overall good round. I enjoyed it.

I do have some time and an idea for TMCC29, but if you are really enthusiastic about becoming a host, I will step down and pass you the torch. In our PM contact so far you seemed like a very nice guy and you deserve that, I guess.

It’s really up to you. I’m not absolutely desperate and it would only be my second comp… plus the layouts won’t be nearly as fancy. :rofl:
