AT tires would be a pretty significant sportiness penalty…

car lore:
CBC autos, a struggling company, is trying to figure why their sales have been low and recently have launched multiple hopeful race programs in order to boost sales, their team focused on their leading coupe “Nasim” with some GT style racing but a few engineers in the back were experimenting with their basic compact sedan model, a lil wing here, a turbo there and some witchcraft and bam, Tanner 25T was born… The engine was based on the 1.8 liter that came with originally but they increased the bore size, and change the headers to an aluminum header to go with the new DOHC system and a small but mighty single turbo setup boosting the original 134HP numbers to 277HP (limited due to a gentle men’s agreement, but no torque limit so…). Surprisingly powerful, kinda reliable and fuel efficient. The car itself wasn’t much different from it’s base line sister, only a new hood and a wing on the back, after all, this company does not have money to redesign a whole new parts section. But then the executives and financial got a wind of the car and since so much was already invested in this project, they green lit it for a rally race! With that, engineers got back to work designing a AWD system with a strange choice of Double wishbone on front and coils in the back. Results were a jack of all trades, master of none type of car… it wasn’t the best looking, most reliable, most fuel efficient, nor the safest or fastest but it was in all of those charts, somewhere in the middle.

1992 Yamaguchi Zen WRC STX
Four comfortable seats in a true rallye car? The Japanese make this possible now.
The all new Zen is one of the sleekest large sedans, still it is designed for a thrilling driving experience with an advanced chassis and a turbocharged engine, derived from the rallye cars of Yamaguchi.
Unlike the old Zen, this car is not meant as a mean of transport, instead, the driving itself is in the focus - this is one of the hottest imports you can get. Yes, for the price and a large limousine, it is not too comfortable and definitely not spacious inside. But it is fast as hell and has the traction to make use of it, thanks to all wheel drive.
Excellent aerodynamics and a lightweight construction offer a top speed well above cop cars … if that is your concern… and the usual Japanese reliability is not too much compromised in this hightech flunder.
Yamaguchi. You drive, we care.

Turból j30 4xAll Turbo 16v
Details
Turból introduced the compact j30 in 1985 to the burgeoning compact executive market, and the first of Turból’s mainstream models to use the 4xAll full-time AWD system. Upon the cancellation of Group B, the j30 found itself in the top rung of the WRC. While many companies did not have a suitable Group A car right off the bat, Turból had the j30 ready to go with AWD and a 1.8 liter, turbocharged, 12 valve “DualTech” inline 4. Though it was reasonably successful, a certain Italian car moved the game on quite quickly. 1990 would see the first major refresh of the j30, and with that brought a number of updates inside and out, including refreshed styling, new rear suspension, and an all new 2 liter, DOHC 16 valve engine, greatly improving its competitiveness on the rally stages. The j30 would also showcase Turból’s technological advancements in suspension and AWD implementation.
