Damn, I have no idea what happened then… top speed is under 300.
Disappointing since I spent ages on it, but obviously my fault in the end

As a tip for the future you could have saved 3.2k by not adjusting the weight distribution slider. As currently it doesn’t do anything in beam (though obviously that probably will change in the future).
oh wow, never knew that - thank you!
Just as a heads up, these past couple of days have been very busy and while I am still trying to get the video out on Saturday as promised, I don’t want to rush it because I also want to add a few new extra elements to the video (which, btw, will also include the DQs) so it might take an extra day. But I want to have everything done by Sunday at the latest.
The video will start with a short intro and with my own car’s lap to set a reference point. Then, I will run the DQs in 2 separate head-to-heads, the A.G. Formula 1 V6 Racecar vs the MZMA G1 F1, and then The Reason I Should Quit Automation vs the Falcon Type 6… sort of…
From there, the actual race will start. The pairings were randomized and the resulting head-to-heads are as follows:
As a reminder, in the qualifying round it’s the time that counts. To qualify for the main competition, you need to be within 5s of the fastest car after the 3 qualifying races. It is therefore possible that both cars from a given pairing will make it through the qualifying, or neither.
Here are the outtakes of the first race! https://youtube.com/shorts/O1NOkJ1_C2U?feature=share
Alright, this one took me a lot longer to edit than any other video before, so please do me a favor and like and share it if you enjoyed it.
As we speak, the video is still processing, the finished video should appear here once that’s done: https://youtu.be/WZcDOgqrJfQ
Either way, the results are in and here they are:
It’s really close at the top. The top 6 cars are separated by just over 0.3s, and even last place is only about 1.7s behind 1st. If Hirochi and Tsukuba yield similar results regarding the time gaps, it’s theoretically possible that all 12 cars qualify for the main competition.
That said, both Hirochi and Tsukuba are much more technical than Lakeside, so I would expect the margins to widen on those tracks.
Either way, congratulations to Minos for finishing 1st in this one, but it’s far from over! I’ll see you in the next one.
Little heads-up, I have to postpone the next race by a week to next Saturday (18th November). Not only because this week my work schedule was Monday-Saturday, but these workdays have also been longer and tougher than most weeks so I just didn’t have the energy left to record the laps with these cars in the evening after work, as they require a lot of concentration and focus to drive quickly. I apologize for the delays, but I want to bring you good quality content and not half-arsed driving because I’m tired and need to put a video out.
Sorry I’m late with the results but the video went live earlier: https://youtu.be/777Sjl5syWc
Tez won this race by a hair, just ahead of TCup, with Aeroracer finishing in a strong 3rd place!
This means that overall, TCup is now ahead of Tez, very closely followed by Aeroracer and Minos. But also, as of right now it looks like 9 or maybe 10 cars will qualify for the main competition. Let’s see what happens, maybe we’ll see some surprises!
Always great driving, you could be a pro!
So today concludes the qualification round. The video just premiered, you can watch it here: https://youtu.be/Yk4YbQuuknY
These are the results, once again really close at the top!
The Blue Streak wins another race, this time barely ahead of the HFF, itself very closely followed by the Saber. But overall, the Saber is still the fastest car in the qualifying round despite not winning any of the 3 individual races.
As was established in the beginning, all cars within 5 seconds of the fastest car (the Saber) will qualify for the main round. This means only 2 cars are eliminated, the Tarske and the Mart1n.
I already randomized the pairings for the main competition, too. They will be:
This is also the order in which I’ll show them in the video. Race 1 in the main competition will be at Suzuka GP, see you there!
Alright, the first race in the main competition is over! You can re-watch it here: https://youtu.be/CSpjUbxFIiA
The Saber narrowly beats the HFF, both finishing with excellent times! The Minos came 3rd, the wobble under braking didn’t hold it back too much. Here are the results in detail:
Overall though, the top 5 are fairly close together considering the long lap times.
The next race is Bathurst. It’s got some really long straights and big braking zomes, so we’ll see which car comes out on top there. See you then!
So race 2 is done! You can watch it here: https://youtu.be/BZnf149B8Sg
The Saber wins once again, but this time by a pretty substantial margin! Despite encountering severe brake fade near the end, the HFF came 2nd, but that brake fade cost it the chance of winning outright. Here are the results and the current overall standings:
Next is Sepang, a much more technical track than Bathurst but it’s also got some long straights to balance things out. See you there!
So race 3 has concluded, and what a race it was! https://youtu.be/ZpHeu7kGlLs
The HFF takes its first win, and by a convincing margin. 2nd place is the Saber, followed by the Scarab and then Minos.
Yes, there was arguably a small mistake with the Saber but after reviewing the recordings of the individual runs it turns out this only cost about 0.6s, while the HFF won by 1.2 seconds, so the Saber would have come 2nd anyway.
Overall though, this means the Saber is now only 1 point ahead of the HFF so anything is still possible between these 2.
With that, I hope you enjoyed this one, and I’ll see you again next week at Spa!
Today’s race took place at Spa, and this time we had a few surprising results! In case you missed the video when it premiered, you can watch it back here: https://youtu.be/92BiWRZ1mzU
The HFF winning ahead of the Saber is not overly surprising, but what happens behind these two is interesting. The Blue Streak takes 3rd with the Scarab coming 4th ahead of the Minos. The Catan Corse came 9th, in spite of its higher power output compared to cars like the Delcia Amali and Aero GPF4.
This means that overall, the HFF and Saber are now tied for the top spot! Also, the Scarab and Minos are in equal 3rd place.
So a lot of things can still change in the overall standings at Monza next week! Make sure to tune in, see you there
So the final race just concluded and we have a winner! https://youtu.be/TB-41LxJ9iA
Adarall takes yet another race win, once again followed by TCup, with Tez finishing strong in 3rd.
This means that Adarall also wins overall, 1 point ahead of TCup. Minos takes 3rd place overall, ahead of Gridghost and Tez.
It’s been an exciting season, and I thank everyone for participating and watching. Because I’m on vacation in February, I won’t start the next season in January, rather I will use January to really work out the rules and make sure everything should be balanced and fair. See you then!
