I gave the search function a go but had not much luck so I though I would ask here.
Is there plans to add in the near future if under drivability or under the main states could we get towing/hauling capacity added? Maybe have a tick box to say “allow hauling/towing” because I mean your not going to want to tow with a sports car but it be nice for when we make SUV’s, pickups vans and family sedans
That is something that is baked into the utility statistic (a big part of it) you can go by that. We don’t think it is worth listing separately though.
We’re not here to please individual players of the game, if we did that, Automation would be one big unplayable mess of complexities. What is wrong with a towing / cargo space / load capacity stat that’s called utility? For which gameplay reason do we need to have more than one stat for this? You will probably agree that towing / cargo space / load capacity often go hand in hand, which is the reason why we bake them into one in a similar way as the cam profile slider.
I also wouldn’t mind seeing this added to the detailed stats tab along with off road ability and practicality. There are enough individual statistics baked into those three combinations that it seems to warrant a more detailed explanation
As far as I know, there is no universal standard for calculating towing capacity. As a result, a lot of manufacturers like to play games with (ie. inflate) the numbers. I think the utility stat is more than enough information.
I think I agree on showing the utility stat as one of the detailed stats yeah. Then you can at least tell what is going into that and how you can improve it.
Maybe all the minor stats should get their tooltip, therefore explaining which items are used for the calculations. One example is the offroad stat, in real life narrower wheels can offroading, especially on mud, however on the game it is the tyre profile that is relevant to the stat, thus, sometimes, adding an extra degree of guess work in order to get the optimal value for a given stat.
And not only that, but there is a HUGE discrepancy between the US and Europe when calculating. Because of how litigious America is as a society, ratings are much lower. And a lot of cars are rated as “cannot tow”, even though the exact same car in Europe may have a 2000-ish pound rating.
Which explains why here in Aus/NZ our Falcons (which are pretty much a 15% smaller Crown Vic, but Monocoque and with a modernized old Ford I6) are rated to tow over 5000lbs, as compared to apparently, 1000lbs for a late model Crown Vic.
Yeah that makes more sense Has cargo space, towing capacity and load capacity as sub heading under drivability on of the other heading? I agree also be nice to see off road ability/practicality added as well if you planning on making a “Jeep” car company
If practicality, utility and offroading are all stats that will affect buyers behave in game, than an explained tab to see where a player can improve his/her own cars it will be important.
