I present you all the Ponni Roarer Super Sport, three tons of pure luxury and carbon fiber, and a price tag of $650.000. Perfect for the average Gumball-esque contestant.
Quick questions.
Does no super unleaded refer to 100 Octane (RON)?
Is min reliability >60 for engine plus >60 for overall or is only the overall reliability that must be >60?
Is there a specific year we need to build this car in?

- Yes, you can’t use the 100 Octane fuel because it’s hard to find in the gas stations
- Engine AND average reliabilty must be >60
- As I said is this year’s event, but I have not imposed a year of production because the prototypes of today are using the technology of production cars of 2020.
Then you are free to set it from 1950 (to add a special fashion to your car) to 2020
I have entered this competition with a decadence spec Ungoliant
It’s a shame that there are so few participants.
I really think asking >60 for every major score is a bit too much. It also doesn’t make sense that reliability should be just >60, if this is actually more of an endurance race/trip.
But you can make the car in 2020, with +15 quality sliders and unlimited prod. units and price. You should have zero problems to stick to the regulations.
Honestly that’s exactly why this competition doesn’t appeal to me. Almost no constraints at all (other than having to hit 60+ in all areas) makes for a really bland experience from my end.
Never mind bland, the “road legal” rule isn’t even enforceable.
Are fog lights minimum required equipment? Are muffler bypass valves legal for road use? How big does a wing have to be before it becomes a pedestrian hazard? And so on and so forth.

But there is little skill in doing that. People (when it comes to games) basically like to be awesome and do awesome things. Building an awesome car simply by using +15 quality sliders isn’t a demonstration of that hence the collective ‘meh’ to this competition.

Not everything has to be about micromanagement and the bitter struggle against the cruel, unthinking establishment; how about making a car that fulfills the criteria then make it the most beautiful, style-ridden and over-entitled weapon out there! You never know, you might even have some fun!
My entrant fulfilled all the criteria but was based on 2015 tech and the sliders weren’t maxxed out. Why? Because Bogliq Automotive is about affordable cars so my entrant RETAILS for $330k; I still make $220k per sale and my entrant is good enough to satisfy snooty, rich Europeans,
Make your own optional challenge rules that suit your company’s ethos and even these, less cerebral, competitions are lots of fun!
We need more competitions so I’m happy to enter the easy ones as well as the hard ones… The more the merrier I say!
IMHO there are 2 types of gamer style:
- The competitor gamemer: Who try to create the fastest car possible, in hard challenges with strict rules.
- The role play gamer: Who use the game to create his world, his car company, and immagine himself in some situation.
Personally i’m a role player, E.G. in the past PikesPeak Challenge I create a Vintage class car and an Heavy class car. For the vintage one I’ve used the Specs of an '89 Le Mans Car, For the Heavy one I’ve taken the same engine and i’ve fitted into a van and created a little story about it. ( viewtopic.php?f=39&t=5631&start=10#top ). I haven’t win, my cars aren’t the fastest, but I have fun, I’m proud of what I created.
I don’t blame the competitor gamer, every one have his style.
But I immagined this challenge for people like me, I tried to make something that I would have liked to participate.
I’m really sorry the little success that has met but now come to the end. For the next challenge I have some ideas, I will try to add some rules to make it appeal to everyone.
P.S. The challenge I have in mind is about reliability in hard situation; two words: WORLD TOUR stay tuned.
Have Fun, Francesco
