People have asked before, but I don’t think there was conclusive answer: has an option to delete the transmission tunnel from a platform been ruled out?
But where would the transmission go if you delete it’s tunnel? 
I’d like to know what use would that option have?
The game already considers that setups that do not require a transmission tunnel occupy less space in the passenger compartment.
That’s not true. Currently a car with FF layout will have the same interior space as a car with a FR layout. @Killrob stated that this will be changed in the future, though.

Interior space is designated by body boxes, nothing to do with the chassis. Body boxes are variable in size when linked to morphs. They’re invisible parts of the body, like the cargo boxes.
