You can read plenty of lore into it… But it’s a case where function should come before form.
If I say the year is 1982 and don’t stress that the cars should be 2 years out of date, and someone submits a car that’s got the years set to 1982, it’s my fault as much as theirs for not flagging it enough.
Issue is, I can’t really edit the post a bunch now because I don’t have my full PC - I did some courtesy checks on my Steam Deck, but I don’t have a proper keyboard hooked up. My full PC will be set up in the next couple of days, so it won’t have an impact on judging.
Sedo’s offer for the Tropican government is their latest midsize model. It’s numerous advantages include:
super spacious (4,62 m length/2,64 m wheelbase), very practical liftback body
straightforward, reliable construction - no complex suspension, injection systems or needless electronics
vivid performance, with 11,1s 0-100 time and a 171 km/h top speed
excellent economy (6,3 l/100 km) and environmental friendliness (passes WES 8)
compatibility with harsh conditions, thanks to its clearance and low fuel requirements (accepts 85 RON and leaded - no, it doesn’t have an expensive catalytic converter)
low projected purchase price (18 300 $) and yearly service costs (~600 $)
Send me a DM here on the forum with your .car file, that’s all you need for this one. You can present an advert here in the thread too, but it’s optional.
To the President of Tropico and Comrade Homero Revoluto of the Communist Party of Tropico, I present to you the Industrias Mechanical de Tropico Tucano, a modernized copy of the Tankograd Automobile Factory VK-2400. For only US$ 8,000 dollars it would be the ideal car for the worker who wants to start a family of his own and not take the transit. While it looks like barebones it does the job of an automobile properly.
Also, seeing how multiple people have messed this up: The 28k cost limit refers to your approx cost under the summary tab, in the statistics section. It does not refer to your material cost. Approx cost includes engineering time and production units, so if you design your car to hit (say) 20k material costs, you’ll blow right through the budget.
Just from looking at it, I know the ADAZ 72245 is based on the '72 Slantnose body set (specifically, the 2.43m wheelbase version in 5-door hatchback configuration); the problem with the 4-door variants is that their rear rows of seats cannot be larger than +2, even though some of the longer variants look like they could have at least 2 full-size seats in the rearmost row - a drawback that has persisted even in the Al-Rilma open beta.
Introducing the Kováč Nováček: A lightweight fun hatchback with room for 5, and reliability and fuel economy which lasts for miles and miles!
The Nováček was introduced in the late 60’s/early 70’s, and this most recent 1980 facelift trim features the Mountaineer Pack: 5 speed manual with “crawler” 1st gear, manual-locking differential, chunky All-Terrain tyres, full off-road skidtray, front bullbar, front auxiliary lights, roof rack, and mudflaps.
Known as a slow and unsporting car, it was still fun as well as value for money: Powered by a 900cc Boxer 4 producing 32.8hp & 48.6lb-ft in a rear-engined rear-wheel-drive configuration weighing approximately 720kg the Nováček was by no means fast what-so-ever, but could still reach 73mph eventually. It made up for lack of performance with it’s cost-saving low maintenance approach, anyone with basic mechanical knowledge could work on one and maintain it with ease. Not to mention it was quite reliable and able to withstand the worst of weather conditions with the corrosion prevention techniques applied in manufacturing.
Those KEI specialists Vita Automotive have been at it again… and this time instead of throwing out the rule book, they’ve given and good read and, in the name of El Presidenté, Vita Automotive present for the people of Tropicana the newest and cutest little number…
This 4-seat, FWD, manual soft top is great for soaking up the pure Tropicana air and cruising the streets in comfort, or sorts, and style.
Coming in at a curb weight of 735kg or 1620.4 freedom lbs, the Escolar Sunrise is super lightweight, super nible, and glides across the ground barely leaving a mark apart from the laughter and enjoyment of Tropicanan’s being being at one with machine and nature.
Powered by a spritely Vita KEI inspired 660cc turbocharged inline 3 producing 60 of El Presidenté’s finest HP through a playful 5 speed manual transmission. Providing great drivability at a tidy 50mpg.

PM SR4-4F wagon (Leto Aurelio) : an italian based station wagon with tweaks to fit the specific needs of El Presidente’s special request. Its 100 horsepower engine has been replaced with a 40 horsepower engine that propels the car forward to 60 mph in just over 18 seconds. Although performance may not be its strong point, its large cargo space, canvas sunroof, and bulletproof structuring of its mechanics and body make it a perfect fit for traversing tropica’s beaches or bumpy roads while having plenty of room for comrades, tools, or fresh produce.
