To explain: it was my first time flying Norwegian Air and I think it was to Rome. On the return trip we caught a super rapid air corridor and went (supposedly) 12kts over the speed of sound. I don’t know if that is possible or allowed in commercial airspace. Who knows, maybe the captain just bullshitted to keep up entertained.

also for the over the speed of sound, since the wind is pushing the plane, the resistance that would normally break the plane apart isn’t present, so it is completely possible to overspeed a bit.
