Turbo

just wanting to know how it coming i can not wait make my v8"s turbo charged

yeah cant wait either, but ive been thinking what kind tuning options will we have with the turbos, since i know nothing about em except bigger size will compress more air, what else is there that can be done to a turbo.

lol i dont know nothing about them to. but i know it gives you alot more hp  and i wish i had one on my car in real life

I’m guessing (and hoping) it will settings for size, psi, RPM efficiency range, sharpness of blades (for higher vs. lower RPM cars), option of twin vs. single, maybe ball bearing vs. divided. Turbos aren’t really my thing lol. My car has a supercharger (Centrifugal). My guess for superchargers would be roots, centrifugal, blower, screw. along with psi settings, size, RPM range, and single and twins. Even if the game has none of this I’m sure it’s still gonna kick ass! lol These guys are amazing and make the game so full of options and settings. They will not disappoint! And a thanks to the Dev Team for an AMAZING GAME!

oh yes that would be cool to get superchargers to i hope they add that to

Best place for little updates on our progress is our facebook page or twitter (also shown in bottom right of the front page), thats where we post super short text updates, screenshots etc.

Currently i am looking to invest in a Volvo S70 with the 2.5 5-cylinder (low-pressure)turbocharged engine, and what i noticed in the engines torque band, is that it is completely flat at 270nm, pardon my insolence  , but how exactly do you achieve that, while the hp is rising?

(If this is the wrong forum, please show me the directions  )

To make it short and unscientific: Power = Torque * RPM
So when torque is constant for a RPM range, Power will be higer at high RPM than at low RPM.

also, the constant torque thingy is achieved by electronic torque limiter.

could we have that added into the game and could we have it such that we can disable it also?

We just discussed that this morning and decided to not include it (for feature creep reasons).
From a gameplay point of view this mechanic can be achieved by continuous gearboxes (forgot the name), which will be included.
An ECU Torque-Limiter mainly makes for better ease of driving.

There’s been something on my mind about the turbos lately and I thought this would be the best way to post it. So far I’ve only seen turbos with intercoolers. Will we be able to have turbochargers without intercoolers? You know, for early (or just cheap and nasty) setups :stuck_out_tongue:

Yep!

Okay, awesome then : D

not to make another topic

air to air intercoolers are pretty much comon
what about air to water intercoolers?

I just stumbled upon this, regarding blowoff valves etc. youtube.com/watch?v=ShldMVI2_cI

Will we be able to choose blow through or draw through for carbs ?

Nope, they’re all blow through, for ease of piping/artwork.

I just thought of yet another question, elaborating on my earlier one I suppose, will top mount intercoolers be available as an option or is it just side/front mount systems?
Also while on the subject of turbos and intercoolers will you have to put vents/scoops/gaping mouths in bumpers to disperse heat/feed intercoolers or is that just way too complicated? I’m assuming it would be.
