When is the new deadline? Or will it stay the same?
Paige Symphony 2.5 SE
Through the 1990s, E segment cars from non-premium brands saw dwindling interest from buyers in Europe. Despite this trend, Paige, already investing effort into large sizes of the upcoming global MFLC-P platform for midsize and fullsize cars for the US market, felt that the market was not yet worth giving up on. A conventional approach, though, would do nothing to reverse the trend, and without the sporty or luxurious image of the E segment class leaders, Paige aimed for a different niche: eco conciousness.
Concurrently in the 1990s, the Turból Corporation was working on hybrid technology, but did not yet have a clear idea on where it would be brought into production. Paige’s new Symphony would make a fine host. Unlike early Japanese hybrids, the Paige was a fairly upmarket and rather large car, so the Hybrid drive and CVT would need to be paired with something more powerful and smooth than an Atkinson cycle I3 or I4. Instead, the 95fd V6 would be developed into a fuel efficient Miller Cycle variant displacing 2.5 liters.
The design of the car was to match it’s eco-friendly goal. While the rounded shape was somewhat dictated by the US market sedan, further along in its development phase, the Symphony would feature a fully clad undertray an aerodynamic kammtail, the latter improving both aerodynamics and practicality.
The Symphony was introduced for the 2000 model year exclusively in hybrid form. In 2001, a non-Hybrid powertrain would be added to the lineup. The Miller Cycle V6 was maintained, but now connected to either a 6 speed manual or 5 speed automatic.
J/ We have a V8, so screw your eco conscious! Does a peelout in defiance
Your car looks awesome! Great job!

A little update:
The judging is ongoing but lacking the design criteria since I want to look at them in depth, but I felt like after a week, a lifesign is welcomened.
By the way: There are huge differences in economy: The best needs only 4,9 liter, while the drunkard of the field demands for 11,8, so more than double. Also, huge differences in sportiness, while the comfort is not that far apart.
Besides the expected strong entries of the established names like Riley, donutsnail or Moroza I had some pleasant surprises at entries from newbies that have their moments to shine.
So far for now, as soon as I have the time and energy to analyze the visual work in depth for all entries at once to compare them in a fair way to each other, the judging is done.
Good to know your not dead. Thanks for the update! ![]()
As for the fuel economy (I strongly suspect my cars the drunkard), I prefer V8 sounds over maximum efficiency. ![]()
I have to take a veeeeery deep breath now.
WHAT? HALF OF THE FIELD BINNED?
No, not yet. But, there seems to have been an issue with the price cap of 30.000 Automation Dollars.
I have the following price violations:
@VladTheImpala your car is on the picture but you are fine, I added it by accident.
@Texaslav 31.600
@moroza 48.000
@Dog959 38.900
discord entry: 32.900
@Musicman27: 36.000
Now, I wondered why, there is always someone in need of glasses but ALMOST HALF THE ENTRANTS? I then checked the techpool again, and, yep, there is some left on the table. For some it might baaaarely work setting that upwards and it would fit in.
But some are totally out of scope. A possible reason might be that the TP setting is right now still buggy and requires nerves to get it right. That´s possibly on me for trying a challenge in such an early beta version of the game.
Another reason might be that you built the car in your company, NOT in sandbox.
I imported all cars into sandbox to not have the influence of the company techpool, but, you might have built it that way, so please double check.
I really want to get this done, sooo…
there is a grace period until sunday, 25.05.2025, 12:00 anywhere and after that the only thing I can do for you is setting up your TP to optimum, and if you are still above 30k, it´s the SANJU LW40 CRUSHING YOUR CAR INTO THE BIN!
So, whoever wants to check for the issue and correct it, one free resubmission until that grace period is over.
I do believe there has been an error @Happyhungryhippo .
This is what it costs on my end. A whopping 200$ under budget.
It was build in sandbox from the very start btw.
And here is my current techpool fyi.
Have you considered it may have been an export error? I’ve seen that happen before.
I’ll re-export it, and send you it again. Hopefully that fixes the price problem.
A re-import of the car might help, too.
Aparently the techpool exporting wrong is a known problem with al-rilma, causing these price increases.
So the non bin strategy was the right way to Go since you are not at fault.
@here
Please send me your TP and price as Screenshot, so that I can re-calculate the prices correctly for all entrants, if a reimport doesnt help.
I think you’ve just pinged anyone who read this thread, because I’ve got a notification ![]()
