A maximum material cost cap makes sense, but not nearly as much as a maximum approximate cost cap, which is far more logical.

fixed. (set to 40.000$)

Seems interesting
Maybe we cpuld get a description of what the person actually wants?
Seems to be generally hot hatches and 90s japan but sole clarification would be nice

I don’t think there’s any person implied, looking for a car. It seems it’s more like “build the best starter car for Gran Turismo 6-like game”.

BTW, I don’t get the point of Automation inspirations, when we know next to nothing about them.

any car that cheap and fast like: honda civic type-r, mitsubishi lancer evo, mini cooper s, renault clio v6

automation inspirations only for design

Oh man I want play Gran Turismo again

I havent played in ages, that used to be my #1 go to game of all time.

Just gonna put in my two cents here, to give some general advice/opinions to try help with what appears to be your first challenge, but this is really barebones and has quite oddly chosen rules?

For the barebones aspect, there’s five rules and an implication on what you’re making from the title and inspirations, and that’s it. Which isn’t inherently bad, but it is extremely vague (and I just like flavour text in general so there’s my bias towards a fun little explainer at least).

But then the rules are… weird, to say the least. Getting the mechanical aspect out of the way first, the complete lack of any techpool rules, be it a budget to work to or even just “leave everything at +5” is INCREDIBLY broken. Could be easily exploited by putting everything to +15 and making a hypercar, which is definitely not what you’re looking for. But then in terms of the challenge itself, it doesn’t quite make sense from a challenge perspective. It’s pretty obvious that what you’re wanting is a GT starter car, which as anyone who’s ever played a GT game will know, is a shitbox. But the max budget being $45k really doesn’t gel with that, and the material cost limit and cylinder count limit seem pretty redundant. The HP limit actually makes perfect sense, but 275 seems pretty high for a starter car? (Idk I use kW lole)

The rest of my thoughts are pretty much nitpicks lmao, don’t really get why the Automation inspirations are there, and the IRL inspirations seem a bit more varied than what the name of the challenge implies (that evil bastard Evo is not a starter car at all LMAO), but I’m happy to see more people taking a stab at hosting challenges, so hopefully you’ll keep at it! c:

techpool regulations added, budget set to 40.000

To get actual shitboxes you would probably need a budget of around 15000.

Please put that in the post if possible, there is no way people will know otherwise.

Which Automation track are you going to use to simulate the Nordshleife

There is a nordschleife test track mod.

care to provide a link to where we can get the mod?
