V6 Supercar's Season 1 (Dead)

As some of you may know earlier this year I started a compition call V6 supercars as a parody racing championship of Australia’s V8 supercars but was closed due to the open beta coming out. Well now that the open beta is here the compitition will be back on it’s way. I do know about the laptime bug and only the first two phase’s the engine building and car building will commence untill that bug is fixed so I can run the race stage. Heres the introduction of the old compition to give you an idea of how the compitiion will play out. Now that the full release is out anyone can enter submissions.

There have been some rule changes and the weather part is completely false for the first and maybe second seasons.

no turbo V6s? :frowning:

they don’t run turbo’s in V8 Supercar’s so i have decided to stick with n/a but be aware there may be another season with a turbo class…

I am holding off my entry until the Open Beta is public, I know stats will change with the patches between now and then and dont want to retune everything again. That being said it took me quite a while to make my car but I am happy with it

thats fine, i can understand but one thing is im not accepting cars untill after the engines are confirmed as the cars must use the engine’s =)

20% economy with a 5.0 and 700hp… Not sure how possible that is.

Should be possible I think, just keep the fuel mixture a bit lean

But that’s going to mean lower compression, which means less power.

If I enter an engine and it’s chosen, but I drop out before the car-building section, would my engine be disqualified? I don’t know if PAW wants to field an entire car in this competition.

Also, teams are allowed to switch cars and/or engines between races? That seems strange.

Eh, I just did a quick open beta test. A 5000cc NA V6 can easily get 700hp with 20% efficiency… provided you’re not limited to 91RON (why 91RON???). The main caveats: direct injection costs $$$$ so the max material cost of 5000 fairly precludes their use unless you take a tech point hit, which ruins reliability. Because of that, if you want a 700hp 5L V6, you’re pressured into using high top-end DOHC type setups.

Power gain by compression is in my experience actually quite minimal. On 700hp it might matter a bit, but the power gain with the cam profiles and the engine size (not to even mention the fuel injection systems) should offset this enough.

Centauri have entered, our Brimstone MK2 Is nothing at all like the MK1. At nearly 1/2 the size and with more then twice the number of valves this is a successor in name only to our previously massive OHV beast.

Here’s the proof that the engines can be bulit within the limits (i can guarantee that it has the correct exhaust) and 91 ron because thats all you need
(yes i am adding a attachment as i have limited time atm)

I was trying to make things and I was able to get a 750 hp engine, with 20.1% efficiency, for just 3200$ material costs, so it is possible to make something pretty good within the rules.

Also, UMgaming, I think you might want to change the redline of your car, because the way you have set it up will mean that the powerband is cut right at peak power, this way you lose quite a big chunk of useful revs, which will end up making the car slower.

i was just making a quick 10 min example to show that it could get within the rule farely easy I wont be entering that engine anyway if i do enter for the engines

Rpm limit is for the reliablyity #can’t spell and would be fixed if i did enter an engine

Small rule change “Reliablity: At least 50. (I will accept 49.9 cause it is close enough)”

It’s possible to get the engine, I made it with a reliability of 65% aprox and more than 700hp

The displacement of the engine can be 5000, or 5001 cc? Or it must be 4999 or lower?

It can only displace 5000cc’s or less, if your block is 5001cc or greater you must reduce the internal displacement to under 5000cc’s.

Ok, I made yesterday a 5000 cc, but today I achieved much better results with 4999 and lower.

EDIT: Only one motor by user? Or we can send you various motors?

one per user, ill add that to the rules
