Valve float

Hey,

I was wondering if there were any other solutions to valve float except lowering the redline.
Anyone has a clue?

The only things i have found are reducing the bore or increase the number of valves.
Both reduces the valve size -> reduces the valve mass -> lets the valves move faster.

Smaller bore will give you smaller valves that will be lighter and less likely to float.

More valves (5 valve for example) will also give you smaller & lighter valves.

Make sure you’re using DOHC or Direct Acting OHC, as these are the most resistant to float.

what about the valve timeing and lift add ons?

We are assuming that those things are set to the best possible values when you choose the cam, so no, you can’t set it yourself.
