There seems to be an issue calculating maximum speed (in some cases). It seems to occasionally not like selecting top gear for some reason. I’ve got a 4-speed behind a 270hp v8 from 1966, and Vmax isn’t right. This shot shows it seems to be calculating efficiency up 90mph-ish in 4th (maybe relevant?).
With a FD ratio of 2.88, it tops out in 3rd at 112mph (waaay down past peak power rpm), change to 2.89 it hits 144 in 4th. I think if you can do 144mph in 4th, you should be able to do 130, but…no, it doesn’t want to.
We’re missing a lot of other important information here to say if this is actually a bug or not. Can you send some more screenshots of your gearing graphs, and perhaps also your .car file too?
Alright, I’ve had a look; this is graph is basically behaving as intended. The Cruise Efficiency graph is basically there to show you what gear your car is most efficient in at a given speed. It is not a Vmax graph - that’s the default gearing vs. power graph you see in the Powertrain tab.
The fact that it’s reading up to 140 miles per hour appears to be a bug, indeed, as it should only read up to 140 kilometres per hour instead, since that’s really all that is relevant to normal, everyday motoring.
I understand that, I thought maybe the graph had some relevance to the issue of the car not engaging 4th gear when I changed the diff ratio by a delta of 0.01, which it’s now not doing since I’ve imported the above file back into my game. Must have been a local bug.
If that’s the case, then you probably ran into the bug where graphs and stats intermittently don’t update properly, which is fixed by re-loading your car in the Designer.
