Hey hi all , new member here , thanks for letting me into forum.
Long story short: for a while I have this idea about redesign of one real life car. I made prototype in my head , and made a silly 2D pen drawing. Redesign is just a mash-up of elements borrowed from other cars.
So in this occasion I’m looking someone who wants to mess with that idea with me.
Long story short : Reddit wasn’t helpful, I felt like people there aren’t sincere. Also I got mail contact of one famous 3D modeler guy, but he wants 200$ for the project.
So I thought, asking here won’t harm me, cause you guys are the only car design forum which I found when I typed car design forum in Google.
While a small pen drawing might seem like not a lot of work, turning it 3d would be (for any normal person), having paid for 3d models in the past 200$ is reasonable actually.
Anyway, not the point. This forum is full of people who make silly looking cars all the time for fun so you have potentially come to the right place. While there probably isn’t anyone (worthwhile) who will offer to make the car for you in this game, you could turn it into a small competition which would probably gather a bit of interest, more than this post.
Perhaps you could make a post about the drawings you have, and everyone has to design a car around that. Everyone submits their images and you can pick a winner?
If it’s only the 3d model you’re interested in, you can export cars made through automation into blender. They’re not usable off the bat though, and it’s not exactly an easy process. Hopefully that kinda covers everything you wanted to know.
Well, I was kinda hoping to find someone who wants to work in car industry to have my model as a part of like, their pre-job-application. I was also about to offer, if that person has instagram with car designs, I’m more than okey with that person making money off my intellectual property and maybe getting fame from it, so I thought that would make it even. Car won’t be in production by real life company, cause I saw some people get portal articles about their work, and I’m again - more than okey with someone getting fame from that.
Mmmk so they want a portfolio of your work? Are you sure you want to have someone elses work in there? Wouldn’t it show more willing that you went and learned a software yourself? Even if you don’t get that job, surely if you’re trying to get into that industry it’s worth starting to learn some software to do 3d modelling?
I’ll also explain that none of us (to my knowledge) here are designer of xyz company in the real world, there are some of us that are very good at this game, good at blender, good at concept sketches etc but not “industry standard” as it were.
