WOSSOM: Join Anytime! (City Streets Rally Competition – Car Submissions CLOSED)

I can’t believe the simple Stout took the win. I guess all the stickers on the side made it faster. GGs to all.

I guess you could say it astounded everyone with its performance.

The Stout returns, but this time with light tweaks to better adapt it to the city streets.

The stream was nice to watch, Looks like my main concern for the next version of the Wyvern is addressing the slipperiness

I guess drivability is yet again SCC Phaetons main issue. I had some issues with the entire rear of the car wobbling under harsh braking or cornering resulting in some terrifying new forms of snap oversteer, it’s possible that with you being able to push it more than me that may of been re-occurring slightly despite the roof having been put on to try and fix that. Between the roof on the previous car having been made in a shed out of tin foil and the new one having tent poles that are structurally integral to the car I guess all discussion of the roof being alarming is another trend for the company.

Even with the bloopers you got a faster lap than I would of and it was fun to watch throughout. Even driving quite a bit slower than you I span it out completely a few times even after getting the rear axle to stay attached, I just couldn’t seem to control it’s tail happy tendencies.

The Wyvern is back and hopefully this time it doesn’t want to kill it’s driver

The blog post is live!

I’m currently updating some import methods, so the results and ranking pages may take a little time.

What is that car’s tested ATT time?

Automation claims it can run a 2:11. I never checked it beforehand, I just went by the performance stats.

The website has been updated with the latest competition results, company rankings, and numerous fixes. There’s still a lot to do, but it’s coming together!

I remember someone mentioning the clear text on the white background. That’s on the ‘to-fix’ list, along with correcting Vento’s company name.

"In case anyone is wondering how the rankings are calculated, you can check the formulas in our spreadsheet under the ‘Rankings’ tab:

:pushpin: Google Spreadsheet Link

It may look a bit complicated. Probably because it is, but here’s the basic idea:

  • Every company starts with 100 reputation.
  • For each competition, entering a car requires an investment of 20% of the company’s reputation.
  • If a company does not participate, it loses 10% of its reputation.
  • These investments form the “pool” that determines reputation gains and losses.
  • The better the results, the more reputation is gained. Last-place entries won’t earn enough to cover their investment, leading to a reputation loss.
  • The first-place finisher gets a bonus, while the drop in reputation for lower placements follows an exponential scale.

As Damon Hill once said: “The only ones who remember you when you come second are your wife and your dog.”
I personally don’t like this statement, but unfortunately, there’s some truth to it.

This ranking system was inspired by iRacing’s iRating. I believe it’s a great way to keep the competition fair and fun. But as always, if anyone has a better idea, I’m open to suggestions!"**

That makes sense. The more rep you have, the more you risk at each event.

Does this rep by chance affect future trim sales? For example, a company with a rep above 100 would get boosted sales for their next factory car?

Honestly was not expecting the crazy 8 to have such a good time, city streets is going to be pioneers time to shine, and with the improvements given should put on a good show…

and to be fair, beam runs much differently then automations time. I usually test in beam for that reason.

Tweaked based upon feedback and race experience, A.G. has made some improvements for the City Rally!

(likely not enough lol)

I thought about that, but I think it could throw things off balance. In fact, there are quite a lot of campaign features I’d like to introduce, but I’m always afraid it might become too complicated.

I decided to run a quick test to see if it was physically possible to fit the biggest cars into Città Vecchia. The answer is yes. with lots of handbraking to maneuver through the tight corners. Still, just to keep the habit…

Sorry, Machalel. The WOSSOM mechanics worked quickly on the Renaissance, and it’s already back on the road.

An important note for everyone: if you’re planning to register the same car used in the Time Trial for the City Streets Rally, you need to let me know by tomorrow. I’m finalizing inspections and will be releasing the results soon.

One more thing. I’ve noticed that some of you aren’t making full use of the available bonuses. You can adjust all quality sliders up to the values shown on the website. This can’t be changed for the current competition, but keep it in mind when building your car for the next challenge!
