XYR Industries - The Car Of Choice (Feedback Welcome!)

XYR is an Italian car manufacturer that has produced sports and luxury cars since late 2012. Their line-up provides outstanding performance, safety and luxury with amazing value for money. So far, they have released four excellent models:

GT (Now Defunct…)
Salamanca (Sporty!)
One (Grand-tourer!)
Aurorus (Insane-in-a-way-that-doesn’t-label-the-car-as-impractical insane.)

They are also beginning work on a fifth.

All four cars have been extremely successful considering the fact that XYR are the new boys in town. Critics have critically acclaimed their quality of work and the excellent value for money when consumers purchase one of the cars from the lineup. But they couldn’t do it alone. Their tuning sub-brand, AutoTek, helps squeeze every last drop of performance out of their cars. They also help with styling and the functionality of the car itself. Without them, XYR wouldn’t have been so successful.

History of XYR Industries:
When the CEO of XYR Industries, Tyashi Devante, was just a little boy, he was diagnosed with autism. He wasn’t very good at sports, and he was rather shy. But, he had an obsession with cars. He loved the way they sounded, looked and moved. Growing up in a family of four, he was the youngest and the smartest. Playing games like Gran Turismo and Need For Speed through his childhood have helped him recognize what his career path was going to be ; manufacturing his own cars.

In 2012, Tyashi founded XYR Industries, and opened the floodgates to the manufacturing of their debut car ; the GT. Despite being their first time creating a car, and having no experience with doing any kind of design whatsoever, they still sold more than 100 cars in their first month.

After the relative success of the GT, in 2013, XYR released their second model ; the Salamanca. This was a massive hit, with orders coming in from all over the world. Sales are still going strong at over 10,000! More and more models came in as the demand for different styles of car were suggested.

Now, aged 25, Tyashi is an extremely successful multi-millionaire, and the founder and CEO of XYR Industries. He has expressed his passion through his designs and models, and he hopes that someday there will be someone else who will look up to him and share the same passion to help expand the evolution of the motor vehicle.

The ultimate track-day car.

The GT is the debut tuning model created by XYR Industries. The LMP-style chassis combined with its respectable power means it will certainly stand out at track day, provided it doesn’t immediately disintegrate when you turn the ignition switch. (Or, for that matter, if you do anything to it.)

XYR’s GT come in three models, as well as their entry for Le Mans.

The base model, known simply as the GT3, has a small but very nippy 300bhp 6-cylinder engine. With an all-aluminium chassis, it will get from 0-60 in just under 4 seconds, and a top speed limited to 155mph/250kmh. For safety reasons.
It also won’t be understated if you brought one to a fancy party, either.

Price: $52,500 AUD
Power: 300bhp
Weight: 890kg
0-60: 3.9 seconds
Top Speed: 155mph/250kmh

The GT2 is the next step up, with 550bhp under the bonnet. Again, with an aluminium chassis, the 0-60 time is cut down to 3 and a half seconds, and the top speed limiter has been removed, subsequently leading to a top speed of 200mph/320kmh.

Price: $110,000 AUD
Power: 552bhp
Weight: 950kg
0-60: 3.5 seconds
Top Speed: 200mph/320kmh

The GT1 is the top model with 750bhp. This time, the aluminium was scrapped and replaced with a carbon-fibre monocoque. Thanks to its large increase in power and decrease in weight, 0-60 is done and dusted in just 2.8 seconds. If you so dare, the GT1 will gladly reach its top speed ; a shade under 210mph/335kmh. Provided you aren’t screaming the whole way.

Price: $250,000 AUD
Power: 750bhp
Weight: 1100kg
0-60: 2.82 seconds
Top Speed: 210mph/335kmh

EDIT: Sadly, after three long years of manufacturing, the GT has finally finished its reign. And what way to wave the chequered flag than to make it better.

The power has been boosted from 750bhp to 800bhp, and DOT grade racing slicks have been added. Away with the catalytic converters and the silencers, and in with the racing exhausts and direct injection.

With all these additions comes a cost. With the addition of many features, such as F1-grade technology, a sequential gearbox and many expensive things, you’ll have to dish out $750,000. The Revolución is the final goodbye to our best-selling series. Goodbye, GT. You’ve done us proud.

XYR Industries Salamanca

The newest addition to our line-up, the XYR Salamanca is a rather tame beast. Whereas the GT1 will win you Le Mans, the Salamanca is the car of choice for safely bringing you home to your loved ones. The CEO of YXR Industries, Tyashi Devante, gathered up the employees, sat them down, and said but a few words ; ‘The perfect drivers car.’ Some thought he was mad. Some were inspired. Despite the tough job at hand, they all set to work.

The Salamanca is a wonderfully handling machine, and will put a smile on your face, whether it’s a happy smile or a rather fearful grimace. Despite leaning more towards a lightweight supercar, weighing only 1100kg, the Salamanca doesn’t compromise on luxury. Features include traction control, power steering, ABS, electronic stability. Even items that are more suited on a limo appear on the Salamanca. Sat-nav, electric seats, 4 airbags and, most importantly, XYR’s 5 year warranty. The 2.6T also went round the Airfield Track (cough Top Gear cough) in 1:34.4, which ain’t bad. However, the Superlight did it in 1:27.7, which is insanely fast for an everyday driver.

The base model, the 2.6E, is more for relaxed city driving rather than setting best lap times. Along with the fact it does 25 miles per gallon, it’s great for a first car. 0-60 comes in 4.8 seconds and the top speed is limited to 155mph/250kmh. However, if you want it removed, it’s a free optional extra. (Top speed is increased to 165mph/270kmh)

2.6E

Power: 260bhp]
Weight: 1150kg]
0-60: 4.8 sec.]
Top Speed: 155mph/250kmh (lim)]

The 2.6E Turbo is a more powerful model, but doesn’t compromise on drivability. You can still use it for your Sunday drives and popping up to the shops for a bottle of milk. Provided that it doesn’t spill on you.

2.6E Turbo
Price: $32,250 AUD]
Power: 320bhp]
Weight: 1200kg]
0-60: 4.4 sec.]
Top Speed: 155mph/250kmh (lim)]

The Superlight model is the top model of the Salamanca, and for good reason. It’s an extremely hardcore model with absolute intention of disintegrating anything that dares get in its way. Power is the same as the 2.6 Turbo, but it has been lightened by almost half a tonne. Plus, it’s great for track days. Best lap times have been set at courses such as the Indianapolis Road Course and Silverstone’s Stowe Circuit.

Power: 320bhp]

Top Speed: 155mph/250kmh (lim)]

Series II of the Salamanca has been released. Along with a facelift and more power, due to the scrapping of the legendary 2.6L engine and replacing it with a larger 3 litre V6, more technology has been introduced, such as launch-control and luxury items like hand-crafted leather seats. Even the roll-cage, which was once a plain aluminum pipe structure, has been covered in alcantara. Also, to improve drivability, a four-wheel drive system has been implemented. Somehow, despite the shopping list of items added, the weight remains unchanged. Even XYR have no idea how this miracle happened. And we know everything.

I like the tail on the first one!

A revolutionary blend of style and performance.

With the departure of the fantastic GT from our line-up, the next contender, the One, takes over. The turbocharged 6 liter V8 churns out a respectable 427hp. (New models with more power will be added!). However, speed is not the key here.

The CEO of XYR Industries Tyashi Devante had input on this wonderful addition to XYR’s lineup.

“You see, despite its sporting pretensions, and its very large engine, it wasn’t designed to do laps around the Nürburgring or even around your street, like Ferraris and Lamborghinis. It was designed to be a car you can feel. A car you can understand. It isn’t designed to be a racer. It’s a car you can do long journeys with in serene luxury.”

The reason this car has such a big engine is because it weighs a lot. Quite a lot. With its soundproofing, 8 airbags, fancy white leather seats and many electronic features, it weighs around the same as a whale. However, thanks to our friends at XYR’s tuning sub-brands, it can get from 0-60 in under 6 seconds. Not that you’d want to, though. Not even our bravest test drivers have the guts to do such a thing. Who knows what will happen?

If you do have the courage to go flat out, you will hit the barrier at a leisurely 155mph/250kmh.

However, if this isn’t good enough for you, and you want more power, the next model up, the Divertimento, should give you a run for your hard-earned money. An extra 150bhp or so have been squeezed from the 6 liter V8. Due to the larger turbos and the extra soundproofing required, the weight has been increased slightly.

The second-to-top model, the Evoluzione, has 662bhp, an insane amount in a luxury car. With the addition of stickier tyres, it can get from 0-60 in just 5 seconds.

However, if you are really up for it, you’ve signed your will ***AND***have $300,000 up the back of the sofa, there is always the Superveloce model. With the addition of something called ‘XYR Mode’, the suspension is lowered, the grip is optimised and the car being made to be as slippery as possible, it can get from 0-60 in 3.8 seconds.

Testing at our top-secret testing facility gives results of a top speed of 220mph/350kmh.

Renault Espace F1, perhaps?

GOTTA GO FAST

After three years of producing high-performance sports cars for the track, XYR have finally grown up, deciding to being work on a four-door hatchback for your mother-in-law. Either that or you’re having a mid-life crisis.

Instead of the usual giant twin-turbo billion horsepower V8 which everyone is accustomed to (it took a lot of persuading to bring the designers and engineers off the idea), a small but very nippy 1.6 litre inline-6 engine powers the front wheels. A power limit (for the base model, at least) of 158bhp was set, as cars like the Vauxhall Vectra VXR suffer from torque-steer and catastrophic understeer under power.

However, despite the lack of power, you can still get to 60mph in under 8 seconds.

If this isn’t what you are after, and you crave more power for your money, a turbo version with over 200bhp. To counteract the metric crap-ton of understeer seen in the Vauxhall (which, to be honest, they spent about five minutes on the chassis), great care has been taken to provide precision handling, thanks to testing at the Nürburgring.

Speaking of the Nürburgring, to celebrate the world record lap (just under 8 minutes, 7:59.010 to be exact) for front-wheel drive cars, an identical model of the car used to set the lap is underway. With a special button labeled ‘XYR Mode’, the suspension is hardened and lowered, the gear changes are extremely quick (150 milliseconds!) and the engine’s internals are put into overdrive. Also, almost everything has been done to lighten the car, with a 150kg weight saving. The only real luxury item left are the back seats, so when you do laps around your local race track, the kids can come, too!

Plus, it’s a cinch at under $30,000.

Seems like a good hot hatch!

Like a hurricane.

After the success of the Lambda from our friends at Airborne Automotive, XYR Industries decided that they will give it a crack, too. The Uragano, translating to hurricane, is a luxury four-door wagon meant to compete with Audi, Mercedes-Benz and BMW. However, there are a few differences

One, it doesn’t exactly compete with it in the horsepower department, only managing 427bhp from its 6 litre V8 compared to up to 600 in other German saloons. This is mainly because it wasn’t designed to go fast. It’s a home away from home for those who want to have a relaxing drive.

Two, emissions. While the German counterparts are belting across the autobahn at ridiculous speeds, they are the bane of the EPA’s existence due to its high CO2 output. However, in the Uragano, thanks to a high-flow three-way catalytic converter, it produces less CO2 than a Ford Focus.

Three, performance. Despite having less horsepower than the other competitors, and weighing just under two tonnes, thanks to its 8 airbags, fancy electronic equipment, leather seats and its heavy four-wheel-drive system, it can still get from 0-60 in under 6 seconds, and onto a top speed of over 170mph, while the Germans are electronically limited to 155mph.

Finally, price. While other car manufacturers charge up to a quarter of a million for a saloon, you can get your very own brand-spanking-new Uragano for as low as 100,000!

Overall, it may not be as powerful or as fast as some of its competitors, but then again…

That’s only the base model…

Demolish your competition. Dominate them.

We at XYR always offer great value for money, whether you’re into a family car or a pure-bred racer. However, despite the large range of vehicles, we have yet to satisfy the need for offroad driving. This is where the Dominator comes in. With a dual-turbocharged 3 litre V8, it churns out a respectable 300bhp. It may not sound like a lot of power, but XYR insist that you don’t need that much power ; the torque is what you really need. It is also equipped with hill-start and a fancy new feature exclusive to the Dominator. This new feature will scan the surrounding area, and automatically raise/lower the suspension, tighten the final drive or even inflate/deflate the tyres

Despite having a troubled start in terms of engine failure, we managed to single out the issue and DOMINATE it. XYR have also attempted to get a spot in this year’s Paris-Dakar Rally Raid with a stripped out version of the Dominator.

Hey, guys!

I just wanted to let you know that I’m trying to think of a new car to create, but I can’t really think of anything. So, really, this is an appeal. If you’ve got an idea that you’ve been itching to make, but you don’t really have the time, just tell me! I’ve got lots of time on my hands!

Can’t wait to hear your ideas!
