I was thinkin’ about “suggestions” and as I believe this idea could be of help for devs, I’ve got a suggestion for users.
What about “organising” our body suggestions into separate threads? This can make devs job a lot easier when looking for body shapes to style for the game.
What we need (and they need, I guess) is a list of different styles of cars, divided by year and class.
So, this is the first one, dedicated to '80s city cars.
Here we (the users and future players) shall put a list of different body styles for citycars produced between 1980-89 all around the world.
Well, 126 is more from the 70s than 80s.
FIAT Uno’s a “larger” car, city cars from 80s where smaller than Uno, I think it could be put into a sort of “mid-sized class” car of those years.
Here’s my Japanese contribution to the topic (NOT FINISHED), A lot of Kei cars might pop up in this list people have never heard of. super/turbocharged/na 660cc engines (Everything Sorted By generation and model)
HONDA

Excellent idea, and to develop the concept of your thread, why not organize a kind of vote or ranking?
According to this thread: automationgame.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=445 , Daffy said he would like to create 6 body types per kind and per era. So in this thread, each user could post his own Top 6 80’s city cars (with a link for each car) that he want to see in the game, and could include it in a ranking that he will just have to copy in his post, in this way:
I think it could be more helpful and clear for the devs than to just post his favourites cars… And if it succesful, we could do that for other types of cars
So to start the ranking, here is my Top 6 (actually the same than in my example lol) :
I think “city cars” mean A and B segment cars - some of the models written above are bigger than this: Fiat Ritmo, Honda Civic, Alfa Romeo 33, Skoda Favorit, Lada Samara. These are rather belong to the C segment - small family cars.
While I agree to the Honda Civic and Lada Samara being C segment cars, Skoda Favorit is referred by Polish wikipedia as B segment. Let me change my vote.
I agree for the Alfa Romeo 33 and Lada Samara, which are too big to be considered as a “City Car”
And for the Civic, you seems to be right as well, that’s why I will change my vote:
I thought it might be good to but this into a bit more order and make a place where all the results are gathered. So I made this.
Please keep posting your votes here and I will add them the this spreadsheet.
As it was in real life: no wonder it was in production for almost ten years. The 206 is also one of the biggest succeses in auto industry of the last 10-15 years.
