Here are a few short explanations of ideas I have:
-
Shell Test - After designing a shell for our car it would be cool to do an air pressure test to see where the air is moving and where the pressure is being delivered. It would be really awesome if the design would also show and affect the test when there are hood scoops or side pockets that we put on the shell. There should also be a way for the consumers to “rate” the look of the car as a variable to sales, you might have the car perfectly designed for performance but if the people think it looks horrible it’s not going to sell.
-
Consumer Options - Allowing the customers to have a variety of options for the cars their purchasing would be great. Just like when we currently go shopping for cars we can have the option of going manual or automatic, two different engine sizes, two wheel drive or four wheel drive, etc… This would mean that we can see what the consumers are liking in our vehicles and further the best models for them.
-
Street Test - Yes, I know people have talked about being able to drive the cars and that’s not what I’m suggesting. Instead, there should be a track that the car automatically drives through and shows you it’s true performance. Based off this test it would also help the game analyze how the consumers feel about the car, if it’s horrible at turning or looses traction easily it might earn some negative views from consumers.
-
Fame - As we all know, the more popular a car gets the less people actually care about the performance, but more about the look and cost. Look at the corvette, it’s a horrible car and yet constantly people see them as amazing when they come out with a new engine or slightly different body style. This would help your company in short term sales but also make it more difficult when another popular car comes out and yours hits the back-burners. This also means that if people love one of your cars if you make too dramatic of changes to it they might not like it anymore, furthering the difficulty in appealing to your customers.
