Adjustable throttle response trim option

In a similar fashion to how exhaust bypass on an engine gives you all the sportiness benefits of a loud exhaust but none of the comfort penalties, could there be an option for newer drive-by-wire engines/cars to have a selectable throttle response that in effect gives you all the sportiness of the maximum throttle response of the engine (as if using ‘sport mode’) while reducing/eliminating the drivability and comfort penalties (as if using ‘comfort mode’)?

Edit: Also, perhaps offer a throttle response slider to all drive-by-wire cars, so that changing from MPI to DI, for instance, doesn’t necessarily mean lower drivability and comfort.
