AGT (Automation Grand Touring Championship)

This is a brand new Championship, that will be run over the next 10 weeks. For this first season there will be 5 races. To make this Championship stand out, there will be several unique factors, that so far i havent seen much of.

The first is that companies may build an engine and sell it to other competitors.
The second is that all teams are given a budgets which which to spend on several factors, The engine and service costs, and the costs hiring a driver. (Note: Drivers cost the same for all entrants)
The third is Setups, After every race, all entrants may setup their cars to suit the needs of the upcoming track.

The season will be run in 3 sections: Engine tuning, Car and body design, Racing.
Engine Tuning will Last for the first 2 weeks, then a freeze will be put in place on engine.
Car and Body Design will be the following weeks, The first race is announced so you may all tune you cars.
Racing, Every Sunday the race will commence, results post and next race location announced.

In this seasons AGT we will have 2 Classes of competition. AGT1 for Turbo cars and AGT2 for NA cars. To provide more competition for everyone. Each team may enter a car into both categories, Sticking to the Class restrictions. Any team who wishes to run a car in both classes gets an increase of $400,000 to their budget to fund their second car. Please note, You will need to buy a second driver

So you can enter as engine manufacturer or racing team that needs to get their engine from what is offered?

You may an engine manufacturer, Racing team or both. I myself am just producing an engine, so that there is at least one engine to choose from. But if you wish you may be both.

Note: Added production year of 2014 to the rules.

4" exhaust? Maximum, or absolute? If it is absolute, is this single exhaust only?

Also, any limits on tire width and diameter/height?

One last question. Max 20PSI turbo, so are turbos required?

And this sounds awesome (so far)!

Exhausts is up to 4" and dual exhuasts are allowed,

Dont worry about tire as of yet, Car rules will be devised and announced following the first deadline. These first 2 week are purely for engines.

Turbo’s are allowed, but not required.

When i wake up a bit more i will add some clarification to the current rules to reflect that.

Smolensk will supply engines, with both turbo, and NA options available.

Dalora Performance Engines have designed 2 engines for the upcoming season.

The DPE-1 and the DPE-1T. Both are NA and Turbo. Final dyno runs and tuning are being ran this week with a look to being finalised before next weekend.

Also added Smolensk to the Engine Manufacturers

PM me if you would like to consider a Smolensk engine. I will disclose some details via PM if you would like to look further into the Smolensk range.

Ardent Motors will be entering this competition as a Car Manufacturer only. We are in contact with the two current engine builders about their offerings, but want to put out a call to any others considering it. Don’t be shy; we’re keeping our options open, and plan to make our motor selection on or shortly after the engine builder’s submission deadline.

(Translation: speak up if you’re doing engines.)

Gonna be making engines. Hopefully will have them done shortly.

EDIT: Engine sent in for submission.

Do you need to have an established company on the forums to participate ?

Doubtful, since there is currently no official “established” companies on the forums. There is only a directory thread, and a way to make a thread for your own company. Once AutomationHub goes live, this aspect will likely become more “official”.

No offical company is needed, We have just created our before release so we may enter competitions or show off our creations.

Right, well then, Automobiles Levassor is game.

Levassor DRD-C will make the engines used by the Levassor sport team.

So far we have 4 engines registered and legal. (Revisions are still possible.)

Dalora DPE-1T 4.0l Turbo V8 Made by Lothoren (Final Version)
Dalora DPE-1 4.0l NA V8 Made by Lothoren (Final Version)
Evgenis AGT 4.0L NA V8 Made by Cheeseman
Evgenis AGT 4.0l Turbo V8 Made by Cheeseman

All engines will be shown in a handy Google doc, with specs including picures of the engines and power/torque.

Added name’s to the Engines Manufacturer’s List

AMW will provide turbocharged engines for all race teams who want not only power, but also accessability.

Just a small reminder ladies and gents, the limit for BHP is 750 flat. Please make that when you send you engines in that on the engines sandbox screen it says 750.0 or less.

Is anyone willing to release the power figures for their engines in advance?

Just out of curiosity, those who are making 4.0L NA engines…are you actually getting anywhere close to 750bhp? I can only manage around 600bhp on NA.

Just food for thought (and for the future), most sanctioning bodies I’m aware of do not allow NA and turbo engines of the same displacement to run against each other. The turbo always has a displacement handicap. In the SCCA, this value is usually around a 40% displacement reduction. Example: STS class Solo 2 has a maximum displacement of 3.1L N/A or 1.8L turbo (and certain hi-po turbos aren’t even allowed in that class, and are relegated to STX class)
