It has been a long while since I have done an update here wowie! 7 months!
For those who don’t use the Automation Official Discord, I have been busy at work over 1.4 years on a new body for the vanilla game! (A very long time, mainly due to dealing with depression and other problems)
Presenting the Tahara 2012 body set! It features 25 variants over 6 wheelbase sizes (2.6m, 2.7m, 2.8m, 2.95m, 3.125m, and 3.35m):

I am also planning on creating two additional wheelbases that are slightly outside the scope of the game, a 3.8m wheelbase limo and 9m long stretch limo! It is likely these will come later as I am having a break for the time being. It is likely my next project will be learning and creating some new vanilla headlight and taillights, I will try keep you all posted!
Considering that the next newest vanilla true sedan body sets (not counting sedan variants of SUV body sets, such as the '09 Stylish SUV and '11 Sunflower, neither of which look as good in 2/4-door sedan or coupe form) are the '08 Tezda (which lacks a ute variant in any of its sizes, '07 Audi-like body set (which has only one wheelbase), '06 Euro sedan (again, no utes here), and '05 Villan, your '12 Tahara is just what anyone wanting to build a modern sedan/ute needs - without resorting to any of those older 00s-vintage body sets.
Come to think of it, the Tahara could even have a mid/late-'00s build based on it with sufficient use of body set techpool points. So what exactly is its closest real-life equivalent, then? In any case, this is one of the best-looking body sets you’ve made for any build of the base game - especially in 2-door coupe form, which could end up being the basis of muscle/pony car and grand tourer builds, among others.
I can already see a few of those I’d be looking forward to using… And there’s limos in the works, too?
Please tell me there’s going to be sedan options for the limos? Nothing against SUV ones, but… I really want to do the proper “stretched Lincoln Town Car” thing at least once.
But, yeah, I’m really going to be looking forward to the new bodies, and experimenting with those wagons, too.
On BeamNG.drive exports there might be issues due to the extremely long wheelbase not being optimised for Automation export. Usually the best way to solve these issues in the past has been to use solid axle suspension.
