Assetto Corsa Challenge - New round - GTR GT3 on Road America!

I’m happy with SpA. Eau Rouge represent!

In general would encourage shorter tracks. Trento Bondone was a drudge and Nordschleife is called Green Hell for a reason.

be warned I also know SpA like the back of my hand huehuehue

EDIT: as a side note, I brought out the G27 for a bit. And turned off the ABS. Throttle control makes getting out of corners faster much easier, but boy was I spoilt, there are just some things that you can’t do without ABS when you haven’t got a handle on your braking pressures! So while I managed an 8:09 with ABS, I only managed an 8:16 without. Maybe slightly better if I practiced some, but it’ll take… practice.

If we go with Spa, I would suggest for the cars either GT3 cars, although those tend to be somewhat setup dependent.

Or some sort of super car, like the MP4, the 458 or the SLS.

And I’d allow all assists to the choice of the driver.

I also would suggest not making tiers for the next challenges. IMHO it just splits the competition pointlessly.

i’d say we give zandvoort a go.

I love Zandvoort! It’s twisty and challenging.

I wouldn’t object to Zandvoort, it has combos through very narrow sections that leave you very little margin for error, and even the wide section has a devilishly hard to pick blind corner that tightens into an ultra late apex, and then a tightening chicane that I still haven’t worked out which line to take to maximise exit speed because one is spoiled for choice.

now now. never go full xxx7 there.

ok maybe I’m getting a little too excited I’ll shut up now

We could do Zandvoort with one of the lotuses or something like that.

Or the GT86, which might cause @adamd to come and do some laps :stuck_out_tongue:

I know it’s one of those tracks that’s enjoyable in pretty much anything.

This is possible, but I’m not sure I’m srs bsns enough for this, I don’t have much time behind the wheel of AC.

a lot of us don’t either… only some OP guys above do

I’m still wanting the Shelby Cobra at Siverstone '67… Mainly because I think I already have a competitive time on it.

Would you mind holding that idea for the next round?

I can.

When is the start of the next round?

A few of us seem happy with Zandvoort, we only need to choose a car.

On my side I’ll do some screwing around later tonight see what’s fun, but after the E92 I’d take something slower and easier to drive.

This current round has ended, and once the Zandvoort (?) challenge starts, the following should be a week after that.

Would you still be ok with Der Bayer making one more attempt?

As for car around Zandvoort I would vote Lotus Elise (in deference to trackpaduser’s suggestion). If not for that I would have expressed a desire to drive the Pagani Zonda R

Sure, Der Bayer can have one more go if no one else has a big objection.

I would need another 24 hours for another attempt and I don’t think I am willing to invest a lot of time and will fail anyway  So I’m fine with starting the next round.

So while the round have ended, I had a last attempt and finally got a valid lap, not the quickest I have done but at least it was clean.
I got a time of 8:30.187, I’ll upload the a video later since the PS4 uses literally all the bandwidth when uploading.

Alright, so we’re waiting for someone to post a ruleset for this round, by midday tomorrow I’ll have the spreadsheet ready to record results again. Host, don’t forget to read the round rules in the OP.
