Everyone at Brivio would just like to say thank you to all who attended the memorial service, a last minute plan has been made to auction off some of the Brivio classics in Alonso’s collection on the final day of the show, we will put up an auction list later on in the show, 50% of the auction proceeds will go to charity, this could be a great opportunity to get your hands on some seriously good and highly sought after Brivio cars.

We have to delay the presentation of our concept the reason is, we have to do some modification to our stage.

Zenshi will reveal the 2nd generation Gamaru SUV, a name that has not been used since 1996, later on today.

The next-generation Axia will also be revealed soon.

2017 JHW Apollo

Named after the Olympian God of the Sun, The JHW Apollo is the pinnacle of our F-AWD offerings. Priced at $71,600, this car is the GT car for the 21st century.

All aluminium in construction, this car uses our 4.3L, all alloy V8, delivering 368hp to all 4 wheels via a 7 speed DSG gearbox with a 70% bias to the rear wheels.

Tis means 0-62mph in just 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 188mph. And this is truly a long distance tourer, as it returns 27mpg!

2017 JHW Apollo Solaris

Also on offer, we have the Apollo Solaris convertible, priced at $72,000.

Mechanically identical to the coupe, the Solaris provides the infinite headroom of the sky and the joy of top down motoring, whilst still being easy to drive.

0-62mph is still dealt with in 4.3 second, but the top speed has been reduced to 174mph due to the aerodynamic restrictions that a convertible design brings. however, it still manages to return 26mpg, so it’s reputation as a long distance cruiser hasn’t been lost with the roof.

#Daily Round-Up - Day 5
With many of the big announcements out of the way, today was a lull in the madness that is Detroit. Quite a few leaks and announcements for upcoming vehicles were made today, but only a few new cars were actually released.

Splendid Auto Monthly would also like to apologise to IMP for both angering their Chief Engineer and not including a note on the Opera luxury sedan. We misread the details of the Thundercracker thinking that by “one-off chrome blue Thundercracker” that this was a totally unique car, not just a new paint colour. As for not including the Opera, that would be down to our editor…

IMP reveal stylish new Impakt
With funky light fixtures and tasteful chrome styling, the new Impakt reinforces the German dominance of the luxury compact market. Stats have yet to be released, but the promise of inline 6 engines is very promising, especially given how few and far between they are to find these days on such vehicles. The 435hp S1 trim also sounds like a hoot, but pictures have yet to surface.

And, as promised, a proper word on the Opera - a gearbox for the luxury barge was revealed yesterday, namely that a manual shifter can be optioned on all trim levels. That should certainly make the 425SD trim that was on display - packing 410 hp under the bonnet - quite the blast to drive.

Emeraude tease 400kmh+ hypercar
A single image of a section of a potential new hypercar appeared to day on the Emeraude website. Details are limited, though we can confirm that it’s being semi-named after a particular GM owned European brand…

‘Road Rally’ version of the Surge displayed by Storm
A hyrbid rally car, you say? Yep, Storm are pioneering what could become a new class of rallying with a special version of the Storm hybrid. Featuring a massive rear wing, big exhausts and a lot of power. It can also generate a lot of power thanks to an innovative solar sunroof, details of how it works were kept very quiet. We can also expect the new Surge to look much like this car, minus the spoiler.

Assoluto coming to Detroit at the last minute
Little known Italian sports car maker Assoluto Automobili will be coming to Detroit in the next few days, displaying a new 960hp semi-hybrid version of the Crinale from 2014. More to follow.

Brivio honor former CEO with auction
The memorial service held at the Brivio stand was truly an emotional moment today, seeing the passing of one of the companies most important people ever. Alonso Brivio helped to shape the company’s US division and helped to put the company on the map. In honor of his death, a number of classic Brivio’s owned by him will be auctioned off.

The company also teased what appears to be a new sedan, the size of which we can’t quite determine. More to follow.

Zenshi to reveal two new cars very soon
A new SUV and new version of the Axia will be revealed by Zenshi in the next few days according to the company. Details are very sparse, so more on this later.

JHW debut the new Apollo GT car
More news from the JHW stand, the tasteful Apollo and Apollo Solaris cabriolet have been announced. The well priced GT coupes are, much like the Aeolus from yesterday, very understated in their design, which, combined with the low prices, could make the perfect choice for someone wanting a GT car without any of the flashiness.

#OAM Heavy Vehicle Division Announcement

Founded in 1978, the Heavy Vehicle Division (HVD) is a side company owned by OAM dedicated to making reliable and durable trucks and SUVs for the private and civilian markets

##OAM Prowler II
Nothing is more American than big trucks and muscle cars, and since pick up trucks seem to be all the rage at the moment, OAM’s HVD decided to capitalise on this. Here is the OAM Prowler II.


Much like its predecessor, the Prowler II is a mid-sized (by American standards) truck designed for everyday travel and use. The interior is standard, no fancy displays or computers and everything is designed to withstand daily wear and tear. The engine itself is nothing fancy, a 3.6L i6 made by Nadier-Schoefield, designed to be reliable and capable of running on virtually any fuel. Moreover, the truck can easily traverse rough terrain and is easy to drive when not driving on the road. As the marketing team likes to say, ‘a truck does not need to be a sports car nor does it need fancy tech, its just a truck’.


##OAM 1993 Prowler
Moving swiftly on, the 1993 OAM Prowler is also on display. This 1993 truck is rugged, reliable, designed to run on any fuel, and nearly indestructible. Borrowing some design engineers from Japan, the Prowler is also quite small for an OAM vehicle, let alone a vehicle with the HVD logo slapped on it, making it useable in most countries. The 1993 Prowler is also one of the few OAM vehicles that managed to be successfully exported to other countries around the world.


##1982 OAM 1.8 Ton

The first vehicle designed and sold by OAM HVD, the 1982 1.8 Ton is a reliable truck designed for the civilian market. Powered by a modified Nadier-Schoefield Buzzard V8, the 1.8 Ton was capable of towing heavy loads and carrying heavy equipment, a design ethos that stuck with the HVD, even to this day. While not the most famous truck in the HVD’s historical lineup, it is the most significant.

Getting sloshed with EADC’s marketing team may seem good on paper, until you realise they mainly comprise of brits who cant hold their drink.

Also EADC chief design engineer, Jean-Pierre Michael, is available for interview since the EADC CEO is currently in Anikatia for some important business meeting.

While the people filed out, doors rolled down and men in suits got their coats on and left, a group of 15 men silently walked in with T-shirts striped red and yellow, headed to the closed off display area in the corner and began to rearrange objects and putting up signs and lights.

It turns out, the photos had been taken of all of the cars at the Vaunguard Event had been taken, but the photos were copied over to the wrong hard drive, which was then moved from the media management computer to the design documents computer, the files have only been found today after the IT team got back from the show, here are these cars, lost on the wrong computer.

Artemis “Stick” Miller, the father of the Miller Automobile Company, loved all the vehicles he produced out of his factory that overlooks the I-94/I-75 interchange in midtown Detroit, but none gained his affection more than the legendary Miller MS-I race car of 1968. Today we would like to reveal to Detroit, and the world, the Miller MS-II Concept.



This spiritual successor to the legendary MS-I has a twin turbocharged 343 cubic inch (5.6L) DOHC V8 making 585 HP, which is mated to the Miller SQ7MS dual clutch sequential transmission that sends power to all 4 wheels, accelerating it to 60 MPH in 2.7 seconds and topping out at 219 MPH.

In addition, the MS-II is equipped with active aerodynamics and an active suspension so that you drive it in normal traffic, or use it to satisfy your inner race car driver, or simply have fun doing donuts around lamp posts at the empty school parking lot. 2018 Zenshi Gamaru

The second-generation Gamaru makes its way into Zenshi’s 2018 MY lineup, replacing the Galvan as the company’s midsize SUV.

The Gamaru is Zenshi’s second SUV to make use of a monocoque chassis instead of a ladder chassis. Upon release, it will come with only one engine option through multiple trims, a modifed version of the LZ7 3.7L Inline 6 called the LZ7-RME, which cranks out 310 HP @ 5800 RPM and 280 lb-ft @ 5800 RPM mated to a 7-Speed DCT.


Much like how the first generation Gamaru was back in 1987, the second generation Gamaru features a split-way tailgate for better clearance inside and outside the interior upon opening for access.

As an option, the Gamaru can be equipped with Zenshi’s latest AWD technology called SM-AWS (Sequential Motion All-Wheel System) over it’s default FR configuration for improved maneuverability across multiple terrains.

Unveiling of the next-generaion Axia will soon follow after extended demonstration of the Gamaru.

The calmness of the Storm Automotive booth was soon shattered by the piercing scream of a 3 cylinder engine being pushed to the redline.

“10,000 RPM and shifting… Three cylinders… AluStar II series engine. That’s the new Adventure.” Luke said, taking a quick analysis of the sound before the car arrived.

The driver of the Adventure had clearly been driving a long time, as the Alaska plates were a dead giveaway where the car had come from. Storm Automotive’s Global Manufacturing Plant, located in Alaska, was where the Adventure had been built since 2004, as the AluStar II three-cylinder engine was also needed for the Surge. The driver, one of Storm’s Raceworks Division, didn’t bother slowing down for the speed-bump, instead hurtling over it and throwing a scattering of sparks off of the underbelly tray. A yank of the parking brake caused the Adventure’s rear wheels to lock up, the back end to slide, and the bright yellow car to screech loudly as it slid into the parking spot.

“Morning, Susan.” Luke said, as the driver of the Adventure got out. “I take it the trip went well?”

“Couldn’t have been better. I got to drive something with reasonable power and a strong engine, and you know I like these little three-cylinder cars. They’re fun, and it’s even more fun playing ‘dodge the traffic’ in one. Especially when you smoke someone down the highway who thinks they can beat it because they’ve got a sports car. No, they’ve got a warm hatch that packs a 1.6 liter inline 4 without forced induction, and a stupid body kit. I have a punchy three-cylinder engine in something the rest of the world calls a minivan. Here, it’s a hatchback with sliding rear doors. Oh, and be on the lookout tomorrow for Roger, he’s driving the new Serenity.”

#Emeraude Artisant Presents: Opal

The only vehicle Emeraude wishes to display at the NAIAS is the almost 1500hp, 16L V12 Monster, capable of 400m/h+ speeds.

Opal is a production ready concept, named the GT-X, made to demonstrate nothing but sheer brutal driving effieciency. This GT monster is more hypercar than Grand Tourer, boasting a massive displacement engine, and as many race prepared parts as an actual GT racer.

The Looks are polarizing. with the strips being the headlights, and the expected headlight position being vented. this 1800kg GT monster rockets to 422km/h, and accelerates to 100 in 3.6s, this is no slacking lady.

Expected sale price would be 280k (AMU) if this were to hit market.

The V12 is an exceptional engine - not only by itself, but also for Zavir in particular. For nearly 70 years most of Zavir finest cars were powered by engines of this kind - smooth, powerful, unique. Today we brought you not only the latest, brand new Zavir V12, but also the very first, fitted in the legendary, first Zavir Volante. But let’s start with the new one.

##Zavir Motori MD63EC, the jewel

And now, let’s move to the cars that this engine will be used in - and oh, what cars they are…

##Zavir Squalo VII and Zavir Squalo Volante VII, the brand new level of luxury

The new generation Squalo is the first car not from the Z-line to use carbon fiber in its construction - the use of carbon fiber monocoque with aluminium panels allowed to not only reduce weight of this 5.2 limousine and coupe, but in the same time to increase safety to unprecedented levels. Like its predecessor the new Squalo will be available with RWD or AWD 4Forza drivetrains, Hydraspeed VII or Seletronica II transmissions and engines ranging from 2.7 TIDe V6 to 6.3 i-ACI V12 in the Sportivo trim. It will be available at Zavir dealers worldwide from March this year.

##Zavir Z Volante III, the ultimate granturismo

The facelifting of the Z Volante (released back in 2013) coincides with a change in its engine lineup - the old 5.5 AD65EC V12 is replaced with the new MD63EC of the same displacement. The other three engines, 4.5 V12 and 4.3 V8 in N/A and turbocharged variants remain the same. As a reminder, few basic facts about this (GT12) trim of the Z Volante:

  • full CF construction measuring 15 ft/4.6 m and weighing 3750 lbs/1700 kg
  • 2+2 RWD coupe layout
  • 5.5 V12, 507 hp
  • 0-60 MPH in 3.8 s, top speed of 222 MPH/ 358 km/h

##Zavir Squalo (1974), the first shark in the sea

You know the last, now meet the first. However its predecessor was nicknamed “Squalo” (shark in Italian), and even later got it as a part of its name, this one is the first to have it from the beginning and also the first Zavir flagship to be offered in Europe. The whole idea of such a big car just after the fuel crisis might seem unreasonable now, but in fact thanks to introduction to Europe and broader lineup of engines, including some economical V6s it was even more successful than the 100 Squalo, its predecessor. This particular one however is powered by a 6.3 litre V12 from the D63D family, introduced with this model.

##Zavir Volante (1949), the legend, the archetype

You know the last, now meet the first - again. The first Zavir sports car having its own construction. The first of the long line of Zavir GTs. The first of the long line of Zavir V12 cars. The first of the long line of Zavirs named “Volante”. It was also one of the most luxurious coupes of its time, and one of the fastest cars in the world achieving 158 MPH/254 km/h - respectable to this day. That car defined “style” and “performance” for Zavir for the coming decades.
