I think the rules as is covered pretty much everything now. You can make ANY thing, use ANY fuel, and run with catalytic converters if you feel the need to spend more on something that reduce power and add weight!
For this challenge, I decided I would make an iconic car, except I would then cheap out on just about everything except the engine. What results is a car that, if it holds together, will go like the clappers (in a straight line, anyway).
Behold, the car that Felgen’s Giugiaro wedge body was intended for… a car actually designed by Giugiaro, the Lotus Esprit!
Well here is my not so imaginative entry, I guess I have issues making cars of my own huh?
Introducing the 1977 Desert Motors “Abraham Metropolis Car”. The brakes suck, the engine is over emissionized and it weighs more than some homes, sounds perfect for Lemons!

We found the old DMA PR78B out in the back and thought hey perfect, and its almost exactly as it was in the pocket rockets competition.
It had been sitting there for quite some time, and looks as though someone backed into the passenger door with a forklift.
So we checked the oil and seeing that there was still some there put in a new battery and some fresh gas fired it up… and who would have thought it started right up. (#1 reliability)
We delicately cut out the exhaust system after the headers and installed a straight pipe held in with high quality metal straping and sheet metal screws from the local hardware store.
We did add a small spoiler and front lip using the same sheet metal screws and fine tuned with Persuasion (5lb sledge)
Removed the back seat and most of the rest of the interior, added a roll cage
We also removed the air cleaner box off of the carburetor.
When it was all done we painted it lem… Canary yellow for $10.
We may or may not have taken a saws all to the hood, just don’t remove the protective duct tape.
My first thought on yours was “Nice old BMW”, then I saw the wings and thought “Nice old Lemon BMW” ROFLOL Fits the part perfectly!
I think you can’t do, even if you try hard, a suspension as bad as what you would found at a american barge, no one can make a car with a waterbed handling like caddillac did!
Time Attack Bro. Bro you up for a TIME ATTACK?! Where’s my stop watch? You got a stop watch? Who cares about tyres life when you’re making a car for a TIME ATTACK?!
It’s really impractical to do it as an endurance race for now. So it gotta be a time attack.
Time attack is in the thread’s name. I explained why it gotta be time attack in the OP. All of the races on the forums are time attack (except the BRC, which is the innovative system not yet available to normal player.) Do you want me to say Time Attack again?! I could go on all day!
This one is based on a JDM CR-X SiR, complete with tuned B16A, 5-speed gearbox, and rear disks*. Viscous-type LSD was optional on those cars but I haven’t used one here. Other than that? Aftermarket suspension, bigger tires and the extensive weight reduction regimen.
Road legal in New Zealand. Need a cert for adjusties though.
*I’m unsure about the correct rotor sizes for a SiR because Honda has ten million different rotor and pad combinations, but I’m pretty sure the diameters I have are in the ballpark.
